He kicks things off in the NCHSAA 4A ranks as the 10th best returner in assists per game this past season. He dished out 4.0 assists per game as an unselfish presence in the Catamounts' backcourt this past season. He'll look to be that and a whole lot more on the basketball court and football field as a college prospect.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">9) [player_tooltip player_id='2285809' first='Loddie' last='Leach'] | 5'9 Point Guard | South Garner High</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Leach is an intriguing prospect to get to know out of South Garner High in the NCHSAA 4A East. He's a name for DIII/JUCO programs in the region to get eyes on as he returns after kicking out 4.2 assists per game. He's quite an underrated playmaker for their squad in the Greater Neuse River Conference. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">8) [player_tooltip player_id='2521022' first='Jaheim' last='Redmond'] | 5'9 Point Guard | Alexander Central High</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Redmond is a hidden gem tucked away in the NCHSAA 4A West in the 2026 class at Alexander Central High to get to know. He makes his return for his junior season after distributing 4.4 assists per game as a sophomore. He does well to play within himself and not overdo things at the floor general spot. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">7) [player_tooltip player_id='2521024' first='DeQuadre' last='Currence'] | 5'10 Guard | Butler High</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Currence is a strong-framed guard prospect in the 2025 class out of Butler High to keep an eye on in the playmaking department in the NCHSAA 4A ranks. He returns after dishing out 4.5 assists per game for the Bulldogs in 2023-24. He's an unsigned senior to watch in the Southwestern Conference. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">6) [player_tooltip player_id='1220122' first='Rodmik' last='Allen'] | 5'11 Point Guard | New Hanover High</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Allen returns looking to pick up where he left off in the NCHSAA 4A ranks after leading the Wildcats to a 32-1 record and an appearance in the state final game. He returns as the sixth best assist man after averaging 4.5 assists per game. He's one of a few top returners to appear on a few lists as well. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br>5) [player_tooltip player_id='1361268' first='Nathan' last='Fife'] | 6'1 Point Guard | Sanderson High</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Fife checks in at No. 5 in the top returners in the NCHSAA 4A ranks in assists out of Sanderson High. He's a high IQ floor general who racked up 5.0 assists per game to go along with his 21.4 points per game average to pace the Spartans. He's a name for DII and DIII programs to check out. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br>4) [player_tooltip player_id='2055663' first='Nick' last='Keith'] | 6'2 Guard | Grimsley High</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Keith is a prospect for LM/MM programs in the region to get eyes on and one reason for that is his pedigree for making plays for others. He's a name over at Grimsley High to get to know in the 2026 class after producing 5.6 assists per game as a sophomore. He's a guard prospect who's shown he can do a lot more than just score the basketball. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">3) [player_tooltip player_id='1990412' first='Derek' last='Ross Jr'] | 5'11 Point Guard | Jordan High</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Ross is a rising name to get to know in North Carolina's 2025 class out of Jordan High. He dished out 6.0 assists per contest this past season and is surely due to raise that total with the return of a top prospect in the 2026 class to Jordan High. He's underrated name for DII, DIII and JUCO programs to get eyes on at the point guard spot. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">2) [player_tooltip player_id='1409584' first='Jacari' last='Brim'] | 6'2 Point Guard | West Forsyth High</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Brim is an Appalachian State commit with quite the pedigree at the point guard position in the NCHSAA 4A ranks. He returns as the second best assist man after distributing 6.2 assists per contest this past season. He knows how to make plays for others and make the offense go as well as how to knock down shots on the perimeter. He knocked down 68 3-pointers this past season to go along with 175 assists in 2023-24.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading {"level":3} --> <h3 class="wp-block-heading">1) [player_tooltip player_id='2520198' first='Amare' last='Jones'] | 6'0 Point Guard | Lumberton</h3> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Jones is a prospect in the 2026 class whos shown promise already as a top playmaker in the NCHSAA 4A ranks with Lumberton High. He checks in as the top returner in assists after dishing out 7.5 assists per game, ranking first in all of 1A East in 2023-24.
