There were not a ton of true big men at the Prep Hoops Freshman Showcase, but here are a trio that are worth keeping tabs on this season and down the line!

[player_tooltip player_id='2532003' first='Joey' last='Jakstys'] (Yorkville)

Jakstys is the younger brother of Illini freshman Jason Jakstys. There are some intriguing tools to like with the Yorkville 6'6” post. Plus athlete that runs the floor very well getting up and down the court as a rim runner. Fluid athlete that can also handle it off the defensive glass pushing it on his own. Solid passer that can also step out to hit a three. Like the mobility he brings as a post defender being able to switch. Bright future for this Yorkville big man.

[player_tooltip player_id='2369943' first='John' last='Morgan'] (Crystal Lake South)

Morgan is a 6'4” power forward with such an excellent skill level. He might not wow you with his athleticism, but its his skill set at his size and frame that are so much fun to watch. Rebounds everything in his area. Morgan can play bully ball down low with his strength, but his ability to pass, shoot, and handle are what make him an intriguing prospect. Can deck it on the baseline for scores and get second chance points on the offensive glass. A lot will depend on how much he grows, but there are some skill set similarities and the fact that he might be overlooked like guys previously Robbie Avila and Cameron Krutwig.

[player_tooltip player_id='2369867' first='Ryan' last='Morgan'] (Crystal Lake South)

Morgan is the twin brother of John who we mentioned above. He is a skilled 6'4” forward that is an excellent passer, can take it off the bounce from the mid-post, stretches the floor from beyond the arc, and rebounds well in his area.
