Detroit Catholic Central Open Gym Takeaways

There was exciting young talent, many of which could become "household names" in the prep basketball community very soon. I'd never scouted his game before and I came away thoroughly impressed. Honestly, he played himself into a ranking. Davis used his long strides when filling the wing in the open floor. He was an athletic and fluid shooter and playmaker. He has a strong well balanced frame that he uses effectively on both ends of the floor. Suardini was very steady with the ball, making good decisions. He saw his spots and beat defenders to them. Suardini utilized a pretty shot fake to clear space for his jumper. The thing I might have been the most impressed with was his focus and demeanor throughtout. He even just looked like a basketball player when you walk in the gym. He has a strong frame, a good wingspan and a consistent jumper. Walker keeps good feet and balance on his shot, both off the dribble and the catch and shoot. He has a next level frame with a very powerful base. Mark my words, Lee has a chance to have one of the best mid range games in the state next season. He had the look of a long and athletic wing type of player. St. Clair was athletic and could finish at the rim that way, both in the open floor as well as a half court set.
