August is here meaning the new academic school year is right around the corner. Group 1 might contain the smallest public schools in the state, but it still has players who can impact the game especially in the 2025 class. Here are the 2025 under the radar Group 1 prospects to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='1599859' first='Jack' last='Fitzpatrick'], 6'3 PG Henry Hudson

Fitzpatrick had a big 2023-24 season and is looking to have an even bigger 2024-25 season. The 6'3 guard has a good handle, which he uses to get to his spot on the floor and finishes nicely around the basket. Fitzpatrick sets his feet before he shoots and can make opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He moves well without the ball in his hands and has the length to get deflections on the defensive end. Fitzpatrick is a scoring guard prospect who should put up big numbers in his senior season.

[player_tooltip player_id='1456865' first='Edyrn' last='Morales'], 6'5 SF Manville

Morales played for the Philippines at the FIBA U17 World Cup and is looking to build off that this season. The 6'5 wing has a good first step, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and finish at the rim. Morales rarely forces jumpers in the halfcourt and uses his size to see over his defender. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and skies for rebounds. Morales is a lanky wing prospect whose ability to influence the game at both ends of the floor will help his stock in a big way this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421339' first='Owen' last='Reynolds'], 6'4 SF Middlesex

Reynolds has the potential to breakout this season with his ability to score inside and out. The 6'4 wing rarely forces shots in the halfcourt and can finish through contact around the basket. Reynolds uses his handle to get into the lane and has a nice release on his jumper. He is a solid rebounder and is an underrated defender. Reynolds is a skilled wing prospect who should have a strong senior season for Middlesex.

[player_tooltip player_id='1825346' first='Omer' last='Tal'], 6'4 PF Cresskill

Tal might be an undersized power forward, but that doesn't stop him from making an impact on the court. The 6'4 forward uses his strong frame to get position down low and is unafraid of drawing contact in the paint. Tal has a good touch in the paint and sets strong screens in the halfcourt. He is tough to boxout on the offensive glass and holds his ground on the defensive end. Tal is a gritty forward prospect who does whatever it takes to help his team win games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2421362' first='Tommy' last='Gobel'], 6'7 PF Weehawken

Gobel has the potential to play either the four or the five, which makes him an intriguing prospect in the class. The 6'7 forward finishes nicely around the basket and is able to get position down low. Gobel moves well without the ball in his hands and is able to pass out of the post. He fights for rebounds on both ends of the floor and uses his size to swat shots around the basket. Gobel is a physical forward prospect whose ability to score in the paint will help his stock over the course of the season.
