This past Sunday, many of the top players in Oregon's 2028 class gathered at the Prep Hoops Oregon Freshman Showcase at the Beaverton YMCA. We're going team by team to break down each player at the event. Here is the scouting report for Team One from the 5v5 portion of the competition.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539793' first='Lum' last='Hong'] Gresham

Made a big impact by anticipating fast break opportunities and constantly beating guys up the court for easy buckets. Hustled down the court and kept the pace high with or without the ball, accounting for quite a few quick buckets.

[player_tooltip player_id='2396095' first='Darius' last='Jones'] Jesuit

Solid player who had some real good takes to the rim. Made the most of his touches and showed some good ability to navigate bodies inside. Good effort and stayed ready to go.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427523' first='Jakai' last='Pippa-White'] Gresham

A tough kid who had some real nice finishes inside, stretching and scooping shots around defenders at the cup. He's a quick, shifty guard who showed off a pretty good handle to get to space and find shots both inside and in the midrange.

[player_tooltip player_id='2427519' first='Jacob' last='Harper-Grant'] Ulysses S Grant

Tough downhill player, splitting defenders with strong moves to the rim and was able to hang through contact and finish. Really forced the issue getting to the hoop and his physicality on drives often proved too much for defenders. Did a good job getting deep with tight defense on him and then created space by seeking contact at the hoop to get shots up. He went hard when he saw gaps and finished well with either hand.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539769' first='Damon' last='Keith'] North Eugene

Really efficient with his touches both in by the hoop and further out. Made good use of off-ball cuts and seemed to constantly find space in dangerous spots to get high-percentage looks. Showed a pretty well-rounded game scoring with his back to the hoop with good post moves, hitting outside shots, and staying active by the rim. Had a few nice moves off the bounce too, pushing his dribble in transition to split a couple of defenders, using a hard behind-the-back dribble in the middle of the floor to stop and pop, and showing strength on straight-line drives.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539789' first='Lincoln' last='Keeney'] Tualatin

Showed great feel as a playmaker from a spot other than the one. Has the strength to take it in strong to the hoop and the presence of mind to feel dives behind the help, as well as fills to vacated space along the perimeter and in the midrange. Has the patience to let the play develop and the timing to hit guys right as they come open. Also showed the ability to size up the floor and make a quick first move to get by his man.

[player_tooltip player_id='2402161' first='LJ' last='Davis'] Beaverton

Showed some nice shot-making, hitting leaners in the midrange and draining some looks from 3-point. A really quick and shifty player with the ball in his hands and showed some toughness to finish through guys at the rim, as well as the determination and speed to beat guys to spots, continuously getting to the cup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539765' first='Brock' last='Estes'] Tualatin

Long kid with a good stroke and showed some potential to develop as a shooter. Has the size to shoot over close contests and used that reach to get in on some boards, and worked to keep them alive with first and second jumps.

[player_tooltip player_id='2457187' first='Michael' last='Ratcliffe'] Wilsonville

One of the most physically imposing players at the showcase, Ratcliffe was a beast on the glass, nearly unstoppable with first and second efforts inside, and showed some ability to pick up speed on straight-line drives to the basket. He also showed some surprising intention in transition, taking the board on several occasions and pushing it down the floor himself, ready to go the length of the court until someone was bold enough to step in front.
