June 21st-23rd I attended the annual prestigious Section-7 at the State Farm Stadium in Glendale,AZ. There were 160+ teams from across the West and some out of the area and it is one of the biggest live period that college coaches can view high school teams. It is basically the Super Bowl of HS basketball in the West for three days. The local teams held their own and Millennium even won one of the top brackets.

Here were some of the top Newcomers I viewed

[player_tooltip player_id='2470115' first='Jaden' last='Fitzhugh'] Apollo (Pictured)

A skilled bigger wing forward can shoot it from the perimeter, get to the basket and defend. He has long arms and quicker feet to keep his opponents in front of him. He will rebound and block shots. He is a sneaky good passer and his best basketball is clearly ahead of him.

[player_tooltip player_id='1176298' first='Jalin' last='Holland'] Dream City Christian

A physical combo guard unfortunately got injured and didn't play the last day but he can play on or off the ball with elite size and strength for position. He has a ready made college frame and uses it to get downhill and has counter moves in the post to score. He sees the court well, defends multiple positions and hits the catch three.

Brayden Boe CG 6'4 2025 Dream City Dream City Christian/Mountainside/OR

A good sized guard plays on of off the ball. He is highly skilled who can shoot it from mid to the three and dunk it on the break. He plays at his own pace and just knows how to play. He makes every read and knows how to change speeds well and can get downhill using his size and thicker frame.

[player_tooltip player_id='1432044' first='Ethan' last='Stokes'] Rancho Solano Prep

A hyper athletic wing forward to rebound out of his area and will rise up from mid-range off the dribble. He is very polished from mid-range and loves the pull-up. He has good inside footwork and then will hit the catch three. His upside is very high.

[player_tooltip player_id='1955968' first='Marcus' last='Jackson'] AZ Compass Prep

A twitchy athletic post player moves really well in space. The lefty can shoot it from mid-range and drive it with his dominant left hand but he is mostly a scorer near the rim. He ability to move in space and rebound and blocks shots makes him intriguing plus add in his high flying dunks.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470696' first='Tyonne' last='Brown'] Pinnacle

A long and lean wing forward with great size and skill already. He can rattle in the catch three point shot with good form. He is competitive to defend in space and inside to rebound in his area. He makes shots, scores in transitions and looks to keep growing.

[player_tooltip player_id='1422770' first='Nicholas' last='Randall'] AZ Compass Prep

A Missouri native plays hard and will rebound the ball and blocks shots in the paint. He can handle the ball a little and springs up quickly to coral the board or score on put backs. He will provide depth to the roster.
