Cedar Grove 47 vs. Tri-Cities 46

Cedar Grove took Court 4 after they took a heartbreaking loss to Grayson. The 15-point loss put them out of the champions bracket and placed them with Tri-Cities who lost to Lee County (44-63), In warmups, Cedar Grove took the loss personally and wanted to redeem themselves. While Tri-Cities knew this was a coming out party for their revamped program. Led by Sean Verdume ( [17 points], these teams traded baskets for the entire first half [26,28]. Emanual Greene finished with 19 points. None of his points were made easy by Tri-Cities. This game spent alot of time at the free throw line and was more a test of will than skill. Late-game missed free throws by [player_tooltip player_id='1383039' first='Sean' last='Van Dorn'] were the biggest factor in Tri-Cities coming up short. Van Dorn used his size and mid-range ability to rack up 19 points but shot 1-6 from the free throw line. It was the most competitive game seen today allowing displaying two teams that pride themselves on skilled defense. This was a nice change and impressed many scouts, knowing the programs produce college-ready players with their competitive culture reputations.

The premiere game of the night. Lee County was met by a powerhouse Grayson on Court 3, the court was wrapped with every fan and college scout in the building. [player_tooltip player_id='1444779' first='Jacob' last='Wilkins'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1383021' first='Amir' last='Taylor'], one of the nation's top backcourts going to the state's best frontcourt players [player_tooltip player_id='1607055' first='Braden' last='Moore'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1630106' first='Josiah' last='Parker']. Lee County stormed the first half with authority, dazzling the crowd by going blow-for-blow behind the explosive playmaking from Parker (14 points). Moore was a crowd favorite taking everything the defense gave him on the perimeter taking NBA-distance 3's and controlling the offense while controlling pace. Moore's efforts were combated with the guard play of Kiwane Harris (6'5 G, Class of 2026)18 points and threatened Lee County's zone with big 3's when needed. They both finished with 3 made three-pointers, 2 in the first and 1 in the second {Moore 3-6 from 3pt and Harris 3-5 from 3pt} . An impressive showing from [player_tooltip player_id='1444779' first='Jacob' last='Wilkins'] in this game was the key factor in Grayson's win. He showed leadership ability in his shot selections and competitiveness on the big stage. Wilkins, attacked from the short corner with a mixed bag of pull-ups, and jump shots and later stretched out the zone on the perimeter resulting in converting free throw attempts late. [player_tooltip player_id='1607055' first='Braden' last='Moore'] was optimistic after the showing, specifically highlighting his goal of "Winning State and being a good teammate"
