The 2027 class might have only played one varsity season, but they have already left their mark on the hardwood. The point guard class is filled with talent, especially in the Non-Public A group. Here are the 2027 Non-Public A point guard prospects to watch.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201951' first='Jacob' last='Canton'], 6'2 Rutgers Prep

Canton is the top rated prospect in the 2027 class as he can score at all three levels. The 6'2 guard explodes off the floor for dunks and can finish through contact around the basket. Canton uses his quick first step to blow by his defender and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He pushes the pace in transition and gets deflections on the defensive end. Canton is a dynamic guard prospect who will be one to watch throughout the course of his varsity career.

[player_tooltip player_id='2201947' first='Anthony' last='Gonzalez'], 6'1 Seton Hall Prep

Gonzalez transferred into Seton Hall Prep this summer and is primed to have a big sophomore season for the Pirates. The 6'1 guard has a tight handle, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and finishes in a variety of ways around the basket. Gonzalez wastes little motion in his release and can get hot from distance in a hurry. He plays with composure on the ball and has good instincts on the defensive end to generate turnovers. Gonzalez is a shifty lead guard prospect who knows how to make plays with the ball in his hands.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202019' first='Alex' last='Mazzella'], 5'8 St. Joseph (Mont.)

Mazzella had a big spring and summer and is looking to carry it over into the 2024-25 season. The 5'8 guard rarely gets rattled by on-ball pressure as he knows how to get to his spot on the floor and threads passes to open teammates in the halfcourt. Mazzella has a nice touch on his floater and moves well without the ball in his hands. He is an underrated rebounder and slides his feet on the defensive end. Mazzella is a gamer who does whatever it takes to help his team win games.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202018' first='Rocco' last='Loomis'], 5'10 Rutgers Prep

Loomis has the ability to play on and off the ball, which makes him an intriguing prospect in the class. The 5'10 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Loomis moves well without the ball in his hands, freeing himself for open layups and jumpers in the halfcourt. He has a solid handle and is unafraid of diving on the floor for loose balls. Loomis is a sharpshooting guard prospect who should continue to torch the nets from distance this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2202016' first='Bryce' last='Clark'], 5'6 Camden Catholic

Clark is one of the speediest guards in the class, which makes him hard to contain off the bounce. The 5'6 guard is a blur in the open floor and finishes in a number of ways around the basket. Clark can also score in the mid-range and rarely makes bad decisions with the ball in his hands. He is an underrated rebounder and makes it tough for his man to get to his spot on the floor. Clark is an electric guard prospect whose ability to run the offense effectively will help his game in a big way.
