2026 Group 3 Point Guards to Watch

The guard class in 2026 has the potential to make noise on the hardwood over the next couple of months, especially in Group 3. Here are the 2026 Group 3 point guards to watch.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1788774' first='Mickell' last='Taylor Jr'], 6'0 Teaneck</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Taylor Jr poured in over 450 points in his sophomore campaign and is looking to eclipse that mark in 2024-25. The 6'0 guard has a smooth release on his jumper and can knock down triples in bunches. Taylor Jr is more than just a shooter as he can also get into the paint off the bounce and finish around the rim. He is an underrated passer and is able to get deflections on the defensive end. Taylor Jr is a sharpshooting guard whose ability to torch the nets from distance will help his stock in a big way.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2342600' first='Terrance' last='Traylor'], 5'11 Ewing</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Traylor has made plays at both ends of the floor this spring and summer and is looking to carry that momentum into the season. The 5'11 guard has a nice handle, which he uses to blow by his defender off the bounce and finish around the basket. Traylor can also score in the mid-range and can thread passes to his open teammates. He pushes the pace in transition and makes it tough for his man to get to his spot on the floor. Traylor's ability to run the offense is something that will continue for his stock to rise this winter.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2107994' first='Jude' last='Berman'], 5'9 Hopewell Valley</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Berman should have the ball in his hands more this season, which will help his development. The 5'9 guard knows how to get to his spot on the floor and rarely forces the issue in the halfcourt. Berman finishes well around the basket and does not mind drawing contact. He finds his open teammates in the halfcourt and moves his feet on the defensive end. The 5'10 guard has a good first step, which he uses to get into the paint and finishes nicely around the basket. Mcneill can also score in the mid-range and sets his feet before he shoots. He is an underrated rebounder and works hard on the defensive end. Mcneill is a gritty guard prospect whose ability to defend the ball and score in the paint will help his game throughout the 2024-25 season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2342643' first='Elijah' last='Thenor'], Dwight Morrow</strong></h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Thenor has the ability to play on and off the ball, making him an intriguing prospect to watch. He attacks the basket with a purpose as he finishes strong around the basket and can draw contact in the paint. Thenor is more than just a slasher as he has a good release on his jumper and makes opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He moves well without the ball in his hands and makes good decisions on the ball. Thenor had a pair of 20-point games last season and should eclipse that total in his junior season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
