The finals of the 17U Divison at the PrepHoops Oklahoma State Tournament came down to a fitting two teams, Next Level Swarm and [program_tooltip program_id='2078402' first='Team' last='Griffin'] Select. This spring and summer, both have been strong representatives of Oklahoma, with a good mix of prospect and balanced team play. Even with Next Level Swarm down a couple key players, they shot lights out all weekend long. They also got a big boost with the addition of forward [player_tooltip player_id='1391437' first='Tre' last='Davis']. The combination of Davis manning the paint and the quality shooting propelled them to the championship on Sunday afternoon. Capping off a great summer for a squad filled with 2025s with next level potential.

Here's a run down of the top performers from Next Level Swarm and runner ups [program_tooltip program_id='2078402' first='Team' last='Griffin'] Select.

One of the most improved players in Oklahoma this summer has been Bauman. He's thrived in the more up and down pace of Grassroots basketball. Getting loose for dunks in transition, swatting shots and drilling triples. This weekend was no different, and he was even the one who got it rolling for early on with a classic "do everything" stretch for Next Level in the title game.

It's a broken record at this point with write ups, but Bauman continues to trend to being a valuable "3 and D" prospect. He'll need to continue to work on his foot speed and defensive feel on perimeter players, but if the late bloomer continues to play with confidence he'll be one of the more undervalued recruits in Oklahoma.

A Swiss Army Knife all grassroots season for Next Level, with a couple players missing Laskie stepped up on the offensive end. Even running some offense at one point in the title game and hitting a backcutting teammate with a great lead bounce pass. It was a fitting end for a prospect willing to do anything to help impact winning. He knocked down threes. Showed good timing on the defensive end with blocks and steals. Deer Creek will be looking for their third straight Class 6A State Tournament appearance, and expect the senior wing to provide a similar impact for them. An impact that often goes beyond the box score.

One of the best players at the event, Talley was relentless in multiple viewings this weekend. He was especially a beast in the semifinals, out producing a similarly talented fellow 918 forward prospect.

What really separates Talley is how quick he is off his feet when it comes to blocking shots, rebounding, finishing and even denying post entry passes on a taller post. He's also agile, which allows to cover guards, Talley has the tools to be one of the best defenders in Oklahoma this high school season. What could really elevate his game is the way he shot the ball from distance, especially in the title game. If that shooting performance is an indication of the work he's put in this summer on his jumper, then he should be a priority for regional small colleges as more of a true wing prospect.

Broken Arrow will be one of the deepest teams in Oklahoma this season and Talley will be at the forefront of the charging and talented Tigers.

Strong and with good lift, Davis was a load all weekend long. Often leaving the rims at Solid Rock rattling with powerful dunks. His touch around the rim looked good on post ups, and at this level he's a quality rim protecter. Now back at El Reno for his senior year, he's another Oklahoma who has benefited from a more national schedule, which should pay dividends this year for one of the top contenders in Class 5A.

The title game was a quieter performance for the BA Tiger, but the reason they were playing for the title was Wallace's big time scoring in the semifinals. It started with a barrage of three pointers in the first half that helped build a healthy lead. Then he helped shut the door by getting busy in the mid-range and on drives. The lanky guard can even target some smaller guards with more patience and methodical like post up plays. Wallace is another Oklahoman who see the dividends of his hard work this spring and summer pay off next winter as a quality shooter and scorer.

McCormick had been a steady part of Next Level's success this season. Often doing the dirty work as a good finisher around the rim and providing valuable depth needed to get through 4-5 games in a weekend. He was in that role again this weekend, with one good sign of improvement. He shot it very well from three, especially in the title game. The addition of a confident three point shot would be a very good development for a physical guard who often does his best work around the rim.
