The "Summer Ball" season is now over after the annual Titans Rockets Classic in Shelbyville. Saint Xavier won the 64 team tournament over Great Crossing. Here are some of the Sophomores who stood out to me. Keep in mind that I did not see every team play. I was in person on Friday and watched a little bit online when I could on Saturday and Sunday.

Gay was dealing with an ankle injury and wasn't 100% all weekend but was still impressive. In stretches, Montez looked like he could be the top player in the class. He needs to get his free throw shooting straightened out, but Gay showed great vision as a passer and finished above the rim, even with the bad ankle.

Langhi was the most impressive that I've seen him when I watched him this past weekend. Much more comfortable off the bounce than I've seen previously, Matthew was borderline dominant against Lexington Catholic on Saturday. With his improved handle and shooting, it will be hard to keep Langhi out of the top spot in the class if he hits another growth spurt (which is expected with a 6'9 dad).

Davier is moving from a third or fourth scoring option to being the go to scorer for Taylor County. White shot the ball at a high clip when I saw him and is capable of facilitating offense for the Cardinals. Joining a veteran team, White may need to adjust to being a go to scorer while also fitting in and not "rocking the boat" with some of the more mature Taylor County roster.

Starks is long and athletic with the ability to score the ball inside of 12 feet. He also looked comfortable shooting from range when I watched him. He didn't make a ton of threes or anything but Griffin's mechanics were good and he looks like he could be adding that to his repertoire heading into his Sophomore season. His highlight of the weekend was a put back dunk when he actually dunked on a teammate.

Against GRC on Saturday morning, Langdon was the best player on the court as he seemingly lived in the corner, knocking down three after three. Spencer had multiple big games over the weekend and I believe he made more than 5 threes in a game multiple times. He definitely did his part to show Grayson is a team to be reckoned with next season.
