Many of the top high school teams on the west coast and beyond made their way to Arizona to play in front of droves of college coaches. We were in attendance and below are the best guard finishers we saw on the weekend.
Aaron Britt, Jr. | 2027 | The Villages (FL)
Britt plays downhill in transition and his ability to get paint touches is the first step in him being on this list of best finishers at the guard position. The 6-foot combo guard uses his strong frame to absorb and finish through contact and has a number of crafty finishing moves up his sleeve. Britt has a savvy basketball mind when surveying the court and diagnosing the best course of action to get a bucket.

| 2025 | Sherman Oaks Notre Dame (CA)
There are few high school players in the country who can match the athleticism and strength that Mark possesses. The 6-foot-2 combo guard is an explosive leaper with a frame that is built to play through contact. Mark’s open court speed, body control and balanced athletic ability allows him to blow by defenders and get to the rim at full speed.
Christian Williams | 2027 | Chaparral (CO)
Williams is a strong-bodied combo guard who can take bumps and stay on balance through contact. The 6-foot-1 rising sophomore has the frame of a running back and plays a similar way when he gets downhill in transition while using his strength to shield off defenders. What makes Williams such a good finisher is his ability to elevate quickly while remaining controlled when met with physicality around the basket.

Lunn’s size, strength and physicality is well-beyond his class as he boasts an imposing 6-foot-4, 200-pound frame. The rising sophomore isn’t the most quick or explosive wing out west but his ability to use his body to move defenders and get to his spots makes him a player who is difficult to keep out of the lane. Lunn is best in transition as a lane filler, slasher and finisher with either hand at the cup.

When it comes to fundamentals on drives and paint touches, Obenyah is one of the best. The 6-foot-3 guard/wing is always controlled when he gets in the lane, utilizes the jump stop to his advantage and gives himself options by playing off of two feet. Obenyah isn’t a player who will blow you away with high-flying, above the rim finishes, but his craftiness and high basketball IQ around the basket are to be commended.
Gavin Hightower

Hightower is one of the elite transition guards in California and it has a lot to do with his ability to change speeds quickly. The 6-foot point guard has impressive burst in the open court and combines that with stop-and-go feel that keeps defenders off-balance and guessing what his next move is going to be. Hightower isn’t an above the rim type of finisher but is rather a savvy scorer around the basket who uses angles and the glass to his advantage.
Semetri Carr

Carr had the dunk of the event with a one-handed, reach-back dunk off of a long lob pass from a teammate. The fact that Carr is a shade over 6-feet tall made it all the more impressive. The rising senior is one of the most dynamic all-around athletes on the west coast and his explosive pop off the floor allows him to elevate and finish over the top of rim protectors despite being on the smaller side.
