When the guys at On the Radar Hoops and Southern Hoops Report get together, that's Shun Williams and Kris Watkins, you're combining two of the most respected circuit/camp entities in the state of Georgia.

For June, it was the first of two now annual High School events hosted by Williams and Watkins, this one last Saturday at Next Play 360, and the basketball was stellar.

We look at Impression-Makers in two parts, here's Part 1:

[player_tooltip player_id='2444509' first='Darnell' last='Collins'] | Guard | Rome | 2026

[player_tooltip player_id='2444509' first='Darnell' last='Collins']

I've seen quite a bit of Collins' development the last two years out on the spring and summer travel ball trail and he never disappointed, now seeing him in a full-fledged Varsity role handling a lot of PG-duties and making a lot of stuff look easy was fun to see, he's naturally gotten bigger and stronger and stands a stout 6-4, showed off his excellent vision as a facilitator but also was a load to handle getting downhill at the rim, Rome always features one or more guys who require serious attention from this outside the ATL-Metro program that has consistently been solid to find some diamonds.

[player_tooltip player_id='2338094' first='Brock' last='Barton'] | Guard | Pickens | 2025

[player_tooltip player_id='2338094' first='Brock' last='Barton']

Pickens was already going to be a team to watch with guys like the Davis brothers (2025 forwards Dodge and Parker, 2026 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1801844' first='McCord' last='Purdy'] and rising 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2125542' first='Jamin' last='Martin'], son of Head Coach Bob Martin) but adding Barton from Tennessee gives them some distinct maturity and physicality in the backcourt, built like a strong safety but standing closer to a linebacker's 6-4 he offers them versatility in a lot of roles while bringing more shooting and a penetrating style to their fun to watch offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1720348' first='Justyce' last='Sadler'] | Guard/Forward | Lakeview Academy | 2025 (pictured at top)

Among the 2 or 3 most gifted athletes in the gym it was intriguing to see how Sadler's game has grown as well, with the Norcross Heat over the last couple of years you'd see flashes that made you want to see more, now a senior he seems to have harnessed some of the natural gifts together with the sound training he gets with the Heat seems ready to unleash that explosiveness with another solid Lakeview bunch, there's above the rim eye-popping stuff and some good vision and mid-range finishing below it, at 6-6 he can guard 1 to 4 the way he moves and that end of the floor aspect is a definite step forward in his overall game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2284887' first='Duor' last='Duor'] | Forward | South Atlanta | 2026

[player_tooltip player_id='2284887' first='Duor' last='Duor']

The length and size at near 6-9 certainly was billed as something to watch for before I arrived but it was really something more to see him utilize it in more than just pedestrian ways, excellent touch in the mid-range immediately popped and while you expected the rim protection we saw him handle it out in space a bit and show off some intriguing variety after the catch near the basket, SAHS is often underrated in how good they are year in and year out so he'll get looks and it won't take colleges long in my estimation to like what they see.

[player_tooltip player_id='1861301' first='Cameron' last='Stephen'] | Guard | Dacula | 2025

Cam Stephen

Perhaps it was the monster spring Stephen had with Hoop Atlanta that had my eyes and other scouts there locked on his first minutes with his new Dacula mates, Falcons and Hoop Atlanta teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1641097' first='Anderson' last='Shepherd'] could easily have gotten a full mention here as he was outstanding all day as well, but Stephen has garnered a rep off what was a really good junior year at Shiloh together with the last three months as a player on the rise and he took the ball in more of lead guard role and really impressed in running Coach Derrick Herbert's offense, one of the true rapid risers in the '25 class for sure.

Evan Mott | Guard | Hillgrove | 2025

Evan Mott

Plenty of new faces being broken in at Hillgrove and it'll be huge for them to have one or more of their upperclassmen take on a critical leadership role, liked what I saw from Mott in that category (and Cowyn Glass too) and he gives them maturity and versatility at guard as a good finisher and ballhandler who helps settle down the younger players (like 2027 riser [player_tooltip player_id='2478483' first='Asa' last='Montgomery']) and get them into their stuff, Hillgrove under Gregg Moultrie always gets so much better as the season goes on so this team is a mere shell of what it'll look like by the time Jan 1, 2025 rolls around.
