[player_tooltip player_id='2382045' first='Kailan' last='Fisher'] started the weekend off on fire by hitting five three-pointers on his way to a team-high 22 points. He played with great composure throughout the weekend and did not allow pressure from bigger defenders to deter him. Defenses knew that Kailan was a knock-down shooter so whenever they closed out hard on him, he did a great job of attacking closeouts and kicking the ball back out to shooters. His shooting form is great and made every three that he shot look like it was going in. He is quick and causes disruption while running a full-court press. Kailan knows his strengths and displays his basketball IQ by exceeding in his role without forcing the issue.

[player_tooltip player_id='2399339' first='Isaiah' last='Nelson'] has had a very impressive summer by consistently being one of the top guards throughout each tournament that he has participated in. Isaiah made a high impact on both sides of the ball at Smoke In The City helping lead JEB Elite to an 8th-grade division championship. He is an extremely shifty guard who uses his tight handle to attack angles and get to the rim. Isaiah also averaged over three steals per game and regularly pushed the pace in transition. He also did a great job of navigating pick-and-rolls whether that was scoring on floaters or hitting his roll-man. One of my favorite players to cover this summer, Isaiah is a very exciting offensive player and leader who communicates well on both sides of the ball.

Samuel Durham broke onto the scene this weekend by regularly blowing by defenders and getting into the lane with ease. He faced a lot of full-court pressure but rarely was disrupted as he kept his composure and created space with his change of speed. While in half-court settings, Samuel stayed ready to shoot and knocked down several threes with a quick release and high release point. He also displayed great vision by finding open teammates off of live dribble action. Processing the game quickly helped Samuel to not get caught up in traps, but rather making quick passes to cutters or shooters once their defender left. While driving, Samuel attacked the rim hard and tried to seek out contact for free-throw opportunities. He was one of the better floor generals this weekend with a lot of potential as he continues to expand his game.

JaMarcus Davis had a great weekend by being a constant disruption on defense and pushing the ball in transition which helped Team THQ 2028 - Twon play to their strengths. He is a strong and athletic guard who forced opponents into quick decisions which led to many turnovers. JaMarcus has an extremely high motor and his aggression was on full-blast for the entirety of his minutes. His strength also helped him to create separation on drives. Shoulder bumps helped him force his way into tight angles that most guards are not able to create against bigger defenders. He also was able to knockdown a number of jump-shots off of spot-up opportunities as well as pull-ups from the midrange. His ability to elevate above defenders on jump-shots as well drives was very impressive and promising as he continues to round out his game.

[player_tooltip player_id='2628938' first='Deontray' last='Mustin'] was one of, if not the, toughest guards for defenders to stay in front of this weekend. He split double teams whenever he was trapped and regularly blew past defenders with a lightning-quick first step. Deontray was able to finish with both hands whether he had open lanes or absorbed contact and finished his drives with and-ones. His suffocating pressure led to a number of steals that he pushed in transition for easy layups. Once in the paint, he showed great footwork to create easier looks for himself or his teammates. He also has great vision and was able to find open teammates off of drives whether he dumped it off to his bigs or whipped cross-court passes to open shooters along the perimeter.

Kevin Rios is an extremely physical guard who used his strength and active hands to wreak havoc on opposing ball-handlers. He rarely passed up opportunities to attack the rim and was able to make adjustments while in the air to force defenders to challenge and this led to a lot of drawn fouls. Kevin was also able to hit his teammates once defenses began to collapse onto his drives and this helped him tally many assists from corner threes. On the defensive side of the ball, Kevin didn't back down from anyone. He regularly took tough matchups and forced them to play uncomfortably as he refused to give them any room. His feet never stopped moving and he kept his hands active in passing lanes.
