Palmetto Pride Wins Bracket:
The Palmetto Pride had a solid showing this past weekend at the NTBA Pre-National Warm Up by the Sea. The Florence based program were led by Lamont Williams Lamont Williams 6'2" | SF Lamar | 2028 SC , Semaj Parker Semaj Parker 5'10" | PG South Florence | 2028 SC , JaBron McFadden JaBron McFadden 6'3" | PF Wilson | 2028 SC and Kazaveon Frierson Kazaveon Frierson 6'5" | PF Manning | 2028 SC .
Williams a lanky forward who will attend Lamar HS this fall really showed some length and bounce here today. He flushed one down in transition on a few occasions. Williams is a very athletic forward who can really cover some ground in a hurry on the floor.
Parker a point guard attended Moore M.S. a year ago and will enroll at South Florence HS come this fall. Semaj showed a nifty crossover move at times to race by defenders. He was able to score at the rim at ease. He attacked the paint and gaps at will while showing good composure from out top.
McFadden and Frierson took care of the middle for the Pride. McFadden a thicker post player will attend Wilson HS this fall while Frierson will be at Manning HS. JaBron moves his feet very well and surely isn’t afraid to mix it up down low. He has a soft set of hands to catch anything thrown in his direction. McFadden attended Williams M.S. previously.
Frierson plays in the paint and already has good size for his age. Kazaveon rebounds the ball well outside of his area and he has no problems hunting down opportunities. He was able to fill the lane in transition and finish at the bucket when given the chance.
Grand Strand Duo Plays Well:
Ayden Leith Ayden Leith 6'1" | CG Christian Academy Of Myrtle Beach | 2028 SC and Elijah McCaskill Elijah McCaskill 5'11" | SF Atlantic Collegiate Academy | 2028 SC both had solid weekends with their play here at the NTBA Pre-Nationals Warm Up by the Sea. Leith is a very deceptive athlete with his play from out from out top. Ayden can get the ball to the cup and finish at a good clip. His team fell to the Palmetto Pride 2028 73-58 in the Championship Game on Sunday. Ayden who runs with Team WIT attends Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach.
McCaskill attended Forestbrook M.S. last year will make his way to Atlantic Collegiate Academy this coming fall he told Prep Hoops. McCaskill a lefthanded guard-forward rarely left the floor for the South Strand Intensity. Elijah has a lot of freedom on this team and was able to score the ball from a few different levels today.
Georgia Duo Makes Noise:
Jeremiah Rhodes Jeremiah Rhodes 5'5" | PG Home School | 2028 GA lives in Douglasville, GA where he’s Homeschooled. Rhodes a point guard really uses the ball-screen well to get around defenders and get the ball to the bucket. He has a quick first step and was able to switch hands at the bucket on several occasions. Jeremiah has a nice mid-range game especially scoring the ball well off the bounce.
Rhodes was running with the Elite Playmakers here at the NTBA Pre-Nationals Warm Up by the Sea.
Jay’den Whitter Jay’den Whitter 6'6" | PF Dutchtown | 2028 GA is certainly a name you’re going to hear plenty of in the years to come. Whitter recently finished up at Locust Grove M.S. and next year will attend Dutchtown HS he told Prep Hoops.
Whitter a left-hand forward was able to convert some turnaround jumpers. Jay’den already has good length to be disruptive in the paint area and in the passing lanes. He was able to contest and block shots. Whitter was able to slash the ball from the wing to the bucket and finish. He has a soft set of hands to catch anything already thrown into his direction.
