Over the next few weeks, I will be sharing my thoughts. In part 1, here are five rising seniors who stood out to me on the court.
I mean this in the best way possible, Sean plays like an old man in pickup basketball. He is always in the right spot and makes the correct read. Out of all the big men I’ve seen this summer, Wesolek has the best footwork of them all. He can pivot around defenders or finish through them. Oh, and he also is automatic from the free-throw line and a lethal three-point shooter. If more high school bigs, tried to emulate Sean’s game, they’d be more successful.
Highlights
If I could describe Garrett’s game in one word it would be, effortless. On offense, he is an elite shooter who gets to his spots and can score from all three levels with his 6’3 size. What sets him apart, however, is his basketball IQ. James is clearly the straw that stirs the drinks for Port Huron and will have a huge impact on their success this upcoming season.
Highlights
I’ve seen Jase play multiple times throughout his high school career, and I can confidently say that he’s improved dramatically. He has the ability to dominate the interior on the defensive end without jumping and fouling. Thus, putting him in a better position to get more rebounds and play more minutes. Offensively, he sets good legal screens and has solid footwork on the inside with a soft touch around the rim. With Linden dropping down to Division 2, they could make a run next March, likely led by Becher.

This Central Michigan University football commit has proven he could play collegiate basketball if he wanted to. His pure athleticism makes him dangerous on offense and an absolute weapon on defense. An extremely high-energy player, Williams is engaged on offense, defense, and on the bench, celebrating the success of his teammates. He is a winning player who will have a big senior year on the football field and basketball court.

Logan Saiko
Logan is the definition of a big guard bucket-getter. Not only is he one of the better shooters I’ve seen this summer, I was impressed that he doesn’t take defense off. Also a football player, he uses his frame and strength extremely well on both ends. Opposing guards struggle to drive on him, and Saiko is an above average rebounding for a 6′ guard. Overall, Kearsley is an exciting, up-tempo team that will be fun to watch in the winter, with Logan being a big part of that.
