One of Georgia's truly great events was back at LakePoint for the first of what will be two electric weekends of June Live Period action.

The Georgia Basketball Coaches Association does a first-class job putting together three days of basketball before a tremendous yearly turnout of college coaches, and Prep Hoops GA was canvassing the building.

During my Saturday and Sunday gym time, I like to spend time away from the feature courts and see what's cooking with diamonds from other parts of town, here were some 2025 ballers who made noticeable statements with their play:

By no means an unknown commodity but still flying well below the radar level he probably should be, this could be a monumental year for the Raiders with such talent coming back (guards Justus Gober and Jalen Davis and big man JoJo McCurry) and adding a guy like sleeper [player_tooltip player_id='2385368' first='Jake' last='Mihalick'] but they'll have to navigate a brutally competitive remake of the 5A Division, Combs checks a ton of boxes for the next level playing on and off the ball with equal efficiency while shooting it a clip that is attractive to college coaches, fast and physical he's an A+ defender and sets up as one of the real steals from outside the ATL-Metro for those smart enough to catch him in July and next winter up the I-85 corridor toward Mt Airy.

[player_tooltip player_id='1300718' first='Connor' last='Teasley'] | Guard | Peachtree Ridge

Just about set to emerge from the Underappreciated Lists to the Best guards in the ATL-Metro Lists where he belongs, the numbers and performance level have simply been too good to ignore in my view as his production with the Lions and the last two summers with [program_tooltip program_id='2076854' first='GA' last='Canes'] are impossible to dismiss, give him a backcourt role and he can fill it as he like many on this list can go off for 25 one night but equally affect the game by filling up the rest of the stat sheet on the way to a team win, one of those guys who was highly touted as a youngster and has more than fulfilled the promise that comes with those often too early for greatness monikers, not the case with Teasley and he will make a college team better.

[player_tooltip player_id='1655579' first='Jaydon' last='Cole'] | Guard | King's Ridge (pictured at top)

Has talent around him with [player_tooltip player_id='1762506' first='Avery' last='White'], [player_tooltip player_id='2362209' first='Charles' last='Bryant'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1966141' first='Zeplin' last='Kidd'] among the returnees but the jury is still somewhat out on how this group will mesh and subsequently compete in loaded A-D1, Cole can carry them offensively in spurts the way he scores from multiple levels, you love him off the ball in catch and shoot situations or the catch and drive but he can handle the point if needed, a stellar passer and leader his year to year improvement and specifically the gains he made off this noteworthy Spring with OTP NXT 2025 should increase recruiting activity his way.

[player_tooltip player_id='2372832' first='Jacobi' last='Robinson'] | Guard | Sandy Creek

Huge fan of the backcourt of Robinson and [player_tooltip player_id='2633658' first='Jared' last='White'] and those two coming back from the 2-time defending 3A champs obviously gives them a bedrock toward more potential playoff success in '24-25, Robinson has the stout frame for getting at the basket and to the line and will have more chances to show off the shooting range and ballhandling with Amari Brown having moved on, you know Coach Jon-Michael Nickerson will have them playing defense so if Robinson and White can carry a large part of the offensive load while new faces step into the frontcourt it could be another big run for the Pats.

[player_tooltip player_id='1501752' first='Reynolds' last='Escher'] | Guard | St Francis

[player_tooltip player_id='1966103' first='Greg' last='Howard'] Jr too had a strong showing on Day 2 for a St Francis team that with Escher and Howard and sharpshooting 2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2245635' first='Deniz' last='Ozbek'] in the backcourt will be a problem in A-D1, it's been fun watching Escher evolve from a player with a lot of flair and producing YouTube-type moments to a grizzled veteran who goes out and fills a lot of roles for the Knights, guts it out on the glass as a rebounding guard and plays gritty defense whoever he's asked to match up with, still can get hot from distance but bigger and stronger now entering his senior year he looked more assertive and efficient finishing a the goal, pure grinder.

Miles George | Guard | Sprayberry

Heat-check moments are becoming more and more common for George coming off a junior season with the Jackets that surely opened eyes and a Spring with SEBA that lit up X and beyond, pure scorer with a nose for the goal from just about any spot on the floor, has added a lot to his repertoire in the last 365 days and it's a natural maturity for a guy who has put in the work and is far more than just the deadeye shooter we've seen from him, plays hard and smart and is the kind of guy you can lean on for 25 points one night but then will help win the next game scoring 6 but dishing out 8 assists and grabbing 10 boards and swiping 3 steals, Scouts across town have been heaping praise and college coaches should be taking more definitive notice.

[player_tooltip player_id='1501753' first='Zion' last='Greene'] | Guard | McDonough

A new regime for the WarHawks but still talent left on this roster after 26 more wins last year for this consistent Southside program, Greene returns with twin brother Zaiden to give them excellent backcourt stability and the two have spent a lot of years together honing their craft both in WarHawkblack and gold and on the travel ball circuits, Greene now a solid 6-3 and 185 pounds uses that power to play the bully-type game when needed but has good quickness going either direction and can hurt you with the pull-up game, be interesting to see if new blood on the sidelines ignites this usually strong group after disappointing playoff exits in recent years.

Was looking forward to seeing Burrows and the Raiders now that the Luke Flynn show has moved on and Burrows in particular stood out, looking more animated and vocal as a leader that's the type of intangible resume item that pops to me and likely to college coaches as well to those already familiar with his offensive ability, handling the point and making good reads is yet another element which quickly got him on this list of players and takes a guy who has been enigmatic at times and provides the kind of glimmer of what his potentially fascinating college self could be.
