Prep Hoops Indiana had boots not he ground coverage for over 12 hours from the opening tip to the final buzzer at Carmel High School. Let’s dive right in and highlight some of the top individuals performers from Saturday’s action.
Aldridge has grown to a legitimate 6’4″ and his outside shot continues to look smoother and smoother, but one thing will always remain the same and that is him making his money as one of the elite interior finishers in the state of Indiana. He is so crafty around the basket with a go-to spin move, excellent strength, and the ability to finish with either hand equally well. The Cathedral rising junior was a big part of their comeback win against New Palestine.

There were several prospects who made serious noise at the Charlie Hughes Showcase on Saturday. Cardinal was certainly one who did so and his strong play led to his first two Division I scholarship offers from Eastern Illinois and SIU-Edwardsville. The skilled 6’7″ forward plays with such a consistently high-motor which pairs well with a soft touch inside and the ability to stretch the floor out to three-point range. His Guerin Catholic team finished the weekend 3-1.

after Saturday at the Charlie Hughes Shootout. He is set to shoot up our Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2025 Prospect Rankings when we give them a full update in July. The athletic 6’5″ wing was excellent on Saturday showcasing his ability to attack the rim off of the dribble, make pull-up jump shots, and connect on catch-and-shoot threes. Cunningham is also an effective defender with his positional size and incredible length. His strong play earned him three more Division I offers from IU-Indianapolis, Miami (OH), and SIU-Edwardsville.

Edwards was almost too hot for his own good to start the morning off at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Some of the Division I coaches that were starting their days by evaluating the Whiteland High School wing were hardly even situated in the Carmel High School Fieldhouse before he began the game by making 4-5 three-point attempts. His combination of positional size, strength, athleticism, and shooting ability led to a lot of buzz among college coaches on Saturday.
Recruiting has obviously changed and there are a lot of college programs still trying to get an initial handle on the Class of 2025, let alone anything to do with 2026 prospects. However, we may not get through the end of the summer before Hayes earns his first offer. The 6’2″ athletic, left-handed guard was excellent on Saturday and caught the attention of several college coaches. He is really good with the ball in his hands, makes quick decisions in the open floor, and scores it a high level.
You can never argue with the consistent production that this rising senior Park Tudor guard provides. Horvath went off for 35 points in a win over Gary 21st Century on Saturday afternoon. His perimeter shot making is impressive, but there is some sneaky burst off of the bounce and finishing ability around the basket that really stands out as well. Game in, and game out, Horvath puts up big time scoring numbers no matter the setting.
There is absolutely no denying that Renfro is one of the best shooters in the state of Indiana. If making 95 three-point shots in 27 games, at 49.2%, as a junior wasn’t enough, the 6’2″ shooting guard has backed it up throughout the weekend. On Saturday, many Crossroads League programs lined the sideline to watch Christian Academy take on Tipton and Renfro went off from beyond the arc earning an offer from Marian after the game. He is a truly elite three-point shooter.

In arguably the highest level game of the day between Lawrence North and Fort Wayne Wayne, Robinson took over down the stretch to secure the win for the Wildcats. He is such an explosive athlete in the open floor and can get a piece of the paint on seemingly every drive. As Lawrence North built a bit of a late lead against Wayne, it was back-to-back tough finishes in the paint from Robinson that created the run. There were several high-major college coaches surrounding the floor to see Robinson on Saturday afternoon.
Washington High School lost on what were essentially back-to-back buzzer-beaters on Saturday, but Stowers finished off a great weekend at the Charlie Hughes Showcase with two more strong performances. The versatile 6’4″ wing shot the ball really well throughout the weekend scoring 26, 15, 35, and 25 points respectively. He picked up an offer from DePauw on Saturday night and promises to be highly sought after by small college programs.
