With the high school basketball season getting underway for the month, so is football for the summer. With athletes playing multiple sports and being committed to both, it shows how impressive and dedicated it is for them to play both, or multiple different ones. Here's just 5 players who stand out in this multi-sport category.

Leyton is going to have a big senior year, already being a great team leader and facilitator of the offense. He is a lights out shooter who has a quick release and has amazing change of speed to his game. He is one of the better point guards in the entire state as he matches up well to the top guards who are being recruited by high Division 1 schools. Those schools need to take a look at Leyton next season. On the football field, his leadership for his team is also apparent as he is the QB of the squad. His vision to find his receivers on the field carries over to the basketball court as he finds his teammates in transition well.

Bryce is a phenomenal athlete, having great feel for the game on the court and fantastic vision. He dribbles the ball well and runs the pick and roll efficiently. He is an all state defensive back and has phenomenal footwork that translate well to the basketball court. His 6'1" length helps him on the defensive side of the court, getting in passing lanes and matching up well against guards in the state. Bryce is more than a 2 sport athlete too, participating in track and field too, showcasing his speed and jumping abilities.

Michael is going to be stepping into a big role on the basketball court, especially with [player_tooltip player_id='1450959' first='Quinn' last='Swanson'] graduating. Johnson already has to be a leader on the football field, being the starting QB for a couple seasons now. He will have the ball in hands often next year on the basketball court and will be the leader of the team, being a player who younger guys can rely on for help within the game. He finds pockets that defenses leave open on the court and the field, always delivering solid passes.

Ismail has been improving on the court in a big way since the high school season ended. He's been shooting the ball at a high clip, recently sinking 51% during the UA Rise session 1. He knows how to score the ball from all 3 levels, finishing athletically around the rim and easily hitting shots. On the football field, he's a tall QB who hits his receivers perfectly in stride and evades lineman in the backfield smoothly. He's a top multi-sport athletes in the entire state.

Cole has been steadily improving for both sports, becoming a more well rounded hooper and becoming more versatile on the football field. He has some of the best hands on the field as a receiver, having over 400 yards despite missing time with injury. His anticipation for both sports stands out to me, reading QB's well as a defensive back on the field and having a great first reaction on the defensive side of the court. His role on the basketball court will be bigger next year and he will adapt well to it.
