The division 1 caliber prospect has been garnering repeated interest among regional tournaments, bringing in constant production throughout his matches. Quick on the glass, he wastes no time reeling in boards on either end, particularly productive on second chance opportunities. Bringing in soft touch on runners and any type of off-balance shot attempts, trust that Aguino will find a way into an efficient shot attempt. It cannot be forgotten either that he remains one of the better floor spacers in the state for his position.
Jacobsen remains one of the most intriguing prospects in the state, given his upside to space the floor while remaining a productive interior defender. His wide reach and relative mobility at 6’10 makes him a formidable matchup for opposing drivers. Active contesting shots at the basket, the forward worked to become a much more active rim protector throughout this past season and club ball this spring. His continued growth on the offensive end will be intriguing, given his soft touch on free throws and the jumper this far along. Already up at 71% from the line and 37% behind the arc, the 4/5 shows immense potential.
The stretch big remains one of these frontcourt options with a modern offensive skillset, revolving around floor spacing. The obvious height advantage lends a hand in the difficulty of guarding his attempts.
Aime has provided a burst of energy to Albuquerque Academy’s roster, actively hustling down the floor on either end. Quickly returning to the paint, the forward looks to anchor the paint however possible, the beneficiary of multiple chase down blocks deep into the playoffs. Doing the dirty work for this group, Aime has embraced his opportunities around the rim, vying for position on the glass. As he continues to build strength, the forward’s production will continue to improve.
With a notably wide reach, Kincaid has shown discipline and skill protecting the rim for Artesia. A lanky forward who maximizes his length to alter or swat away attempts at the rim, the sophomore has leapt into a large role early on. Effective contesting shots with both arms simultaneously
Highlights
Howell provided impact within his role as a dirty work forward, certainly bringing in notable size for his position, particularly within this state. Contributing early on in his career for a competitive 16-13 program in Sandia, Howell should continue to progress within his complementary role. Doubling down on physical screens and strength will be keys for the big this summer.
Another lanky shot blocker, Henderson brings in possibly the longest reach of anyone in the state, providing impactful minutes in his opportunity with Hobbs. A productive shot blocker around the rim, there is little opponents can do to score around him. Another area of intrigue will be his passing vision, bringing in quick instincts on outlets or finding teammates along the secondary break.
