- Top Five Teams of the Week!
- (1) Minnesota Comets Elite. They won the Scheels League session, avenged an earlier season loss, beat Select Ohnstad who was ranked second, and have only loss two games.
- (2) Minnesota Fury Shepherd. Earning third place in the Scheels League and doing it by beating the other 17u team in their program was big for them.
- (3) Minnesota Crossfire Young. Crossfire Young’s cross-pool win pretty much earned them a third place slotting for the weekend in Milwaukee.
- (4) Minnesota Select Ohnstad. They didn’t win the event for the second weekend but they took second and going 7-1 in the league for the year is an impressive number.
- (5) Howard Pulley. The won three of four in the top pool of an event with a really nice field.
PH Cream City Collision. It was a strong weekend for Minnesota Crossfire Young who won three of four games in Milwaukee in Pool A/B and winning their cross pool game with team A (second place finishers). Select Meitz was at the event and went 2-2 in pool D.
3SSB Session Two. D1 Minnesota won three of five while J Sizzle won two of five. D1 Minnesota knocked off Compton Magic but did lose to Team Loaded Virginia in a tough one. J Sizzle got a nice win over Team Rose. D1 Minnesota is 5-4 in the middle of Pool A of 3SSB, there is also a Pool B, and then there is a smaller division of C which is also labeled (icons) as all the teams there seem to involve an NBA player. There are some NBA player sponsors in A or B too but it looks to be separated somehow.
Scheels League Weekend 2. It was a big weekend for the Minnesota Comets Elite 17s who defeated Select Ohnstad 90-88 in the title game plus they beat Fury Wilde avenging a loss from earlier in the year plus they beat Rise and Select Koch comfortably. Select played in the title game the second straight session beating Lockdown and Fury Shepherd plus they just got by Comets Allen. Fury Shepherd beat Fury Wilde by a point in the third place game, Rise made it to the consolation title game, and Heat Presbi had a pair of wins to finish the weekend well.
Meg Vang Invitational. The Minnesota Spartans won the 17u division beating Comets Schumann by 13 in the title game. More Than Hoops took third place.
KC Classic. Howard Pulley traveled down to a solid Hardwood Events event winning three of four beating SSA, Missouri 66ers and MPJ Elite with a loss to Marcus Denmon Elite from UA Rise by 18.
Session 6 Kansas City. Real Phenom had two teams in Kansas City and both went 3-1 for the weekend. One team (Nick) was in the third of seven pools and the other was in the seventh. Powerhouse MN was in the fourth pool of the event, they went 1-3.
Birmingham. Minnesota Gold was 1-3 and that could be D1 Minnesota Gold or J Sizzle Gold, I think it’s J Sizzle Gold. And then J Squad went 2-3, that could be another name in the Suggs program, or any team that might have a J in it around the nation.
