The annual CBG Memorial Day Showcase took place last weekend, with some of the top teams from VA in attendance for the event. There were tons of under the radar prospects who got a chance to play in front of the top scouting service in the state, and improved their stocks in doing so. Here's a look at part 2 of some of the standouts at the 17U level.

Jordan Clayton | 6'0” PG | Team Richmond

Clayton continues to impress this spring with Team Richmond and will likely see plenty of schools come in to recruit him in his post grad year at FUMA. He did a great job putting pressure on the defense and bring energy defensively throughout the event at the lead guard position. He gets downhill effortlessly and knows how to draw contact and finish through it, he makes shots from deep off the catch and he has a natural leadership quality to him that makes him great as a point guard.

[player_tooltip player_id='2443233' first='Brent' last='Thompson'] | 5'10” PG | TMB

Thompson is another Richmond area guard who has been fantastic this spring, showing off a winning style of basketball with his toughness at the point guard position. The Benedictine guard may not be the biggest but he knows how to run a team and does so very well. He made great decisions and handled pressure well, he made shots from deep and in the midrange and he touched the paint at will to put pressure on the defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574509' first='Jayden' last='Brown'] | 6'3” CG | TMB 2026

While Brown may get overshadowed at times on his STAB team he continues to show this spring that he is a prospect worth monitoring and he continues to improve. He had a great showing on both ends of the floor, guarding the other teams best players while also scoring the ball efficiently in a number of ways. He shot the ball very well from deep, he showed his ability to break down defenders and he used his size and athleticism to make plays on the glass and on the defensive end too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2148742' first='Liam' last='Koelsch'] | 6'7” C | Nova Cavs

Koelsch was a standout all season at West Potomac and continues to have a good showing this spring with this Nova Cavs group. The 6'7” big man owned the paint against some very good competition in their wins over Team [program_tooltip program_id='2416185' first='Loaded' last='804'] and Team Richmond, making plays on both ends of the floor. He showed his ability to catch and finish above the rim on duck ins, he showed good touch around the rim and he was a good passer out of the post as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242502' first='William' last='Taylor'] | 6'5” PF | Nova Cavs

Taylor was the other part of the dynamic duo in the post for the Cavs, as he did a great job himself of providing physicality and production as well. He was willing to bang in the paint on both ends of the floor, gathering rebounds and playing stout defense without fouling against bigger opponents. He finished efficiently and consistently putting up good numbers, he moved well without the ball and set good screens and he played within himself and did the little things to help his team win.

[player_tooltip player_id='2242390' first='Noah' last='Limbago'] | 6'3” WF | Nova Cavs

Limbago may not have been the top scorer for the Cavs on the weekend, but his unique blend of size, athleticism and all-around skillset makes him a very intriguing prospect moving forward. The 6'3” wing can play and guard multiple positions for this group, and he's their best mismatch option on the offensive end as well. He can handle the ball in transition and made pretty good decisions for the most part, he showed his athleticism with a couple impressive finishes and blocks, he made shots from multiple levels and he made plays for others as well.
