The annual CBG Memorial Day Showcase took place last weekend, with some of the top teams from VA in attendance for the event. There were tons of under the radar prospects who got a chance to play in front of the top scouting service in the state, and improved their stocks in doing so. Here's a look at some of the standouts at the 16U level.

Lyons was fantastic playing for the CBG Elite teams, showing his ability to score the ball in bunches and really stretch the defense. He was excellent around the rim attacking the offensive glass and showing his ability to finish with both hands and hit the midrange. He was even more impressive on the perimeter though, as he made shots at a very high clip showing deep range and hitting a ton of shots from deep.

McHale Lancaster | 5'11” PG | [program_tooltip program_id='2248971' first='River' last='City Reign']

Lancaster is part of a young RCR and Henrico backcourt that will be fun to watch moving forward, and he had a breakout session. He showed good shiftiness off the bounce with the ability to change speeds and directions and touched the paint consistently making plays for himself and others. He finished well around the rim over bigger defenders, he made shots from multiple levels and was good on the defensive end too.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459370' first='Kevin' last='Mayo'] | 6'1" WG | [program_tooltip program_id='2248971' first='River' last='City Reign']

Mayo is another part of that backcourt, and he was very impressive as he had multiple good scoring games and showed a great skill set in doing so. He showed the ability to create space off the bounce or work off the ball where he moves well to get open. He made shots from deep both off the catch and off the bounce, he got the rim and finished well and he showed great footwork in the midrange to get open and make shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459375' first='Cason' last='Fitch'] | 6'2” WG | Team Loaded 757

Fitch is an up and coming prospect in the Hampton Roads area to keep an eye on, as he could be a breakout prospect for Oscar Smith this year, The 6'2” off guard scored the ball efficiently throughout the event, showing his ability to create shots on the ball and work for them off the ball as well. He knocked down shots from deep off the spot up and on the move, he showed the ability to get to spots and make shots in the midrange and he showed a good overall IQ on both ends of the floor.

Bryce Long | 6'4” CG | Team Loaded 757

Long will be transferring to Mt. Zion in Maryland this year, and if he can play the way he did at the Memorial Day Showcase he'll be a great addition to an already talented team. The 6'4” combo guard showed a mix of skill and toughness that made him an impact on both ends of the floor. He has great length and used that to get deflections and challenge shots, he was shifty and showed good burst to get downhill where he was a good finisher and he made shots from multiple levels as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2459380' first='Matiok' last='Deng'] | 6'6” F | Tru 757

Deng was another intriguing prospect that has a chance to be a breakout prospect at Peninsula Catholic this year. The 6'6” forward is chock full of long term potential as he has great length and a good base skillset for a hybrid forward moving forward. He's a good athlete who plays with a good motor on both ends of the floor, he showed good touch around the rim and in the midrange area and he showed flashes of brilliance on the defensive end too.
