Here are some of the top shooters on display from the Battle of the Borders on May 11th and 12th. These guys posted some outstanding performances from behind the arc, energizing their teams with electric outside shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id='2625563' first='Quentin' last='Mosby'] | Hoopland 16U | 2028

Mosby was easily one of the best shooters from the event, pouring in 3s in both games I saw. He's only going to be a freshman next fall but was a major factor for Hoopland's 16U squad. The young guard splashed in just about every attempt from behind the arc, showed extended range, and a lightning-quick release. He's a very confident shooter and it wouldn't be surprising to see him contribute right away in the next high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2457287' first='Champ' last='Huerta'] | NW Drip Select 16U | 2026

Huerta was a driving force for his team offensively, showing good, consistent range from deep. He has the ability to space the floor and knock down catch-and-shoot opportunities but also made a couple of confident pulls bringing the ball down and hitting from deep. The potent shooter was able to get defenders to play tighter up and showed he can play off that outside shot by using ball fakes, or quick moves off the catch to get inside and hit some tough paint shots over the top of defenders.

[player_tooltip player_id='1631563' first='Liam' last='Kelly'] | EBC Elite 17U | 2025

Kelly had one of the best games of the weekend from 3-point, sinking his first five shots against [program_tooltip program_id='2076260' first='FOH' last=''] EYCL 16U and finishing the game 6-for-7 from behind the arc. He was on fire from deep and hit a couple of shots from a few feet back of the line. Later on, he attacked hard closeouts to get in the paint and make plays, going all the way to the rim and also dishing some dimes to backdoor cutters.

[player_tooltip player_id='2021598' first='Daniel' last='Johnson'] | [program_tooltip program_id='2076260' first='FOH' last=''] EYCL 16U | 2026

He's just a smooth shooter who can hit from long-range and sink some shots off the bounce in the midrange too. While he's really effective spotting up and nailing down catch-and-shoot opportunities, he also is a really quick guard who can attack off the dribble and create some space for shots. He's been a consistent shooter for them all spring, proving to be one of the better shooters in his class.

[player_tooltip player_id='1485653' first='Jaeger' last='Fyfe'] | Team 360 Hoops 17U | 2025

Fyfe's a guard with great range and a nice, high-arching shot. He can hit over tight contests, off the dribble, off the catch, and in big moments. He knocked down four 3s against [program_tooltip program_id='2078823' first='Washington' last='Supreme'] that loomed big in a close victory and hit a lot of his shots off kick-outs and size-ups without hesitation.

[player_tooltip player_id='1910896' first='Diggy' last='Griffin'] | [program_tooltip program_id='2076260' first='FOH' last=''] EYCL 17U | 2025

Here's a 6-foot-5 guard who shows a lot of skill on the perimeter, both knocking down shots on the catch and displaying excellent footwork to create space and drill shots. He shows good shot creation both from deep and in the midrange and can hit step-backs, turnarounds, and tough shots with the defense right on him.

[player_tooltip player_id='2457293' first='Cole' last='Liberty'] | Team 360 Hoops | 2027

Liberty was a big surprise for me, hitting seven 3s in their win over Seattle Select and looking nearly automatic from deep. He didn't solely rely on his shooting to make plays, showing he can dice into the lane and make plays from there, but his outside shooting was definitely a big factor throughout the game and he took advantage of any space afforded to him behind the arc.
