May 3rd-5th I attended the annual Bash in the Desert at the Phhacility and Valley Vista HS locations. It had nearly 60 teams total and I watched 80% of all the teams to form a good opinion of the field.

One of the best shooters in the gym has a pure stroke. He gets squared and releases a picture perfect stroke in a blink of an eye. He gives a hard shot fake and will dime his teammates. He smartly moves without the ball and relocates for the best shot.

Jeremiah Davis CG 6'2 2026 Riverside King/CA (Gamepoint 2026 IE)

One of the top natural scorers of 16U. He has a nasty pull-up off the dribble, which looks like his sweet spot. He is a fluid guard who is fast on the break to finish off easy buckets. He will fall away from his defender and gets hot very quickly. Another good SoCal player to keep tabs on from the Gamepoint IE program.

Derrick Osobase CG 6'1 2026 James Bowie/TX (Heal Elite 16)

A versatile combo rebounds unusually well for his size with his length and athleticism. He can score it with pull-ups off the dribble from mid-range and can hit the open three. He has a sudden burst to get to the basket and he is a good passer plus he has active hands on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2432559' first='Aiden' last='Aniyah'] ALA West Foothills ([program_tooltip program_id='2432520' first='Team' last='Takeoff'] Tillman 2026)

A big kid has a strong base and is effective around the basket. He will rebounds and block shots. He can step out and shoot the three with some success and score on put backs. He uses a drop step into a hook shot that could be a nice long term move.

[player_tooltip player_id='2404557' first='Tyson' last='Dobbins'] Desert Christian (Tucson Spartans Rise UAA 2026)

A combo guard plays with a high IQ and has a good feel for the game. He can hit the catch three and has a quick burst to get into the paint with advanced body control. He is one of the better players in 1A.

[player_tooltip player_id='2133645' first='Razin' last='Smith Jr'] The Gregory School (Tucson Spartans Rise UAA 2026)

Another top of the food chain 1A player is a tough cover. He scores with and-1's in traffic and the fluid power forward can handle it and is very nimble. He is a quick jumper to score on layups and one of his best gifts is his ability to jump a second time quickly before the defenders reload to jump.

[player_tooltip player_id='1917869' first='Ethan' last='Sobik'] Notre Dame Prep ([program_tooltip program_id='2075793' first='Arizona' last='Select'] 16 UAA)

A skilled post players who scores around the rim with drop steps, put backs using good hands and strength to rebound. He has a nice touch on his FT's and can shoot it from the perimeter. He rebounds out of area and will score on a running layup and brings some much needed size to the team.

[player_tooltip player_id='2412338' first='Carter' last='Maxwell'] Eduprize ([program_tooltip program_id='2075793' first='Arizona' last='Select'] 16 UAA)

Only an eighth grader and performing well on 16U. He has a nice frame, good length and comes with some skill. He can hit the catch three, he can take a few strides to score in the paint and he is a sneaky good passer. When he plays aggressively and shows a motor, he shows a bright future.
