Today we want to dig into the Class of 2026 rankings and review five players who used the 2023-24 high school season to increase their recruiting stock significantly.
Below is a review of four “stock risers” from southeastern Pennsylvania’s Class of 2026 who college coaches need to keep an eye on during the spring / summer grassroots season.
25 to 19… Milak Myatt Milak Myatt 6'3" | SG Math, Civics, and Sciences | 2026 State PA – 6’3″ / Math, Civics, & Sciences / We R1 / Combo Guard: In 2023-24 Myatt averaged 12 points to go along with 3.5 rebounds per game and was a 2nd Team All-PPL selection. During the 3A state tournament he increased that scoring stat line to 16 points per night as he pushed MCS to the 3A semifinals. During that semifinal contest versus eventual 3A champion Devon Prep, Myatt tallied 19 points on the strength of 5 made threes. Myatt can run at both guard spots. He thrives in transition and can score at every level in the half-court. Myatt’s dribble pull-up skills are next level. He holds an offer from UTEP.
76 to 46… Christian Matos Christian Matos 6'1" | CG Methacton | 2026 State PA – 5’10” / Methacton / East Coast Power / Combo Guard: During his fantastic sophomore campaign, Matos averaged 17.4 ppg. and drained 67 threes on 40% shooting from behind the arc. His breakout season was rewarded with a 1st team All-PAC (Liberty Div.) selection. When this lefty with unlimited range is not lacing triples, he is getting out in transition for lay-ins and floaters. If opponents double team Matos, he possesses the high IQ and court vison to move the ball to the open teammate. This season Matos poured in 26 points (3 threes) in a win versus Wissahickon as well as 24 points (4 threes) against Plymouth Whitemarsh.
140 to 110… DeShawn Yates DeShawn Yates 5'10" | CG Neumann-Goretti | 2026 State PA – 5’10” / Neumann-Goretti / K-Low Elite / Combo Guard: Yates was thrust into the starting lineup this season after NG’s starting floor general went down with a serious knee injury. This speedy guard prospect responded by assembling a tremendous sophomore season. Yates posted 10 points and 3 assists per contest while hitting threes at a 46.7% clip. His highlight of the season came in a win over Conwell-Egan, when Yates registered 24 points (1 three), 9 assists, 7 rebounds and 4 steals. In addition to hitting threes, Yates can produce points off the dribble and via slashes to the cup for a catch and lay-in. At the other end, Yates is a tenacious defender who is willing to guard for 94-feet.
225 to 214… Mike Mita Mike Mita 6'6" | PF Penncrest | 2026 State PA – 6’6″ / Penncrest / Team Final Black / Small Forward: This long stretch-4 prospect with a high IQ, a smooth jumper and polished interior foot work has developed into a serious match-up problem for opponents. Mita (14 ppg. & 6.5 rpg.) can splash shots from all over the floor, including from behind the arc. He also excels in pick-n-roll action. Plus, Mita can generate points from either elbow by putting the ball on the deck and getting to the rim. Mita does a respectable job of working the offensive glass for put backs too. On defense, Mita is an underrated rim protector. After the 2023-24 season Mita was a 2nd Team All-Central League selection.
