Tonight’s leading scorer. The lefty shot and made what seemed like 7 threes tonight and only missed 3 that I could recall. Christian played completely under control the whole night and made the right pass when needed. The defensive pressure from Veritas didn’t seem to bother him much on the perimeter this night.

Christian is a dynamic left-handed scorer who poses a constant threat on the offensive end. With deep-range shooting ability beyond the arc, he can stretch defenses and create space for himself and his teammates. Equally dangerous attacking the basket, Christian uses his agility and skill to get to the rim and finish in traffic. His combination of perimeter shooting and slashing ability makes him a versatile scoring option who can take over a game from anywhere on the floor.

Matos is a quick-twitch scorer who can really fill it up when he is in a groove offensively. He does a nice job breaking the game down in the half-court and takes what the defense gives him. Matos can fill it up from behind the arc and has a quick trigger on his release. The southpaw has a green light to shoot whenever the ball is in his hands. He also shows that he can make plays for others with his passing. He should be a priority for low majors who need a scoring guard.

sidelined with an injury, it will be intriguing to watch the role that Matos takes on for Carroll this weekend. Matos is one of the best three-point shooters in the state. His logo distance range combined with his fearless approach to shooting forces opponents to pick up Matos at half-court. Still, the development in his handles and at the rim scoring skills has quietly turned Matos into a dual threat guard. He is now fully capable of working as a quality primary ball handler. This quick guard with active hands is also a plus defender who generates steals. Matos (15.5 ppg. in 2024-25) holds an offer from Sacred Heart.

Making the move to K-Low for his final grassroots season as part of a talented core in the backcourt, Matos had it going early and often across multiple games on Saturday morning. The southpaw, known for his long-range exploits as a shooter, had his jumper working across any number of scenarios off the catch and dribble. Matos showed his ability to thrive in a multi-pronged backcourt, relocating to spots to knock down shots off the ball but also showing some growth from the season in his ability to make plays out of ball screens against a rotating defense. The tough-nosed, defensive-minded culture that K-Low is known for should bode well for Matos in the long run this summer, with his shot-making sure to be a valued commodity among D1 coaches at various levels in the coming months.

It was around this time last year that Matos really burst onto the scene with his performance throughout the postseason for suburban power Methacton (PA). Having since transferred over to Carroll and gotten his feet wet in the vaunted Philly Catholic League, he’ll now look to take on the 3SSB circuit where the southpaw will display his feathery shooting stroke on a national platform. Matos shoots as pure a ball as you’ll find in the region, with clean mechanics that translate smoothly to any number of pullup or catch-and-shoot situations. Moving back to the grassroots setting, we’ll look for him to continue incorporating more of the on-ball scoring game that he flashed in his underclass years, as well as continue to sure himself up on the defensive end despite the limitations brought on by his narrow frame. While there are areas for improvement, Matos looks to have found a nice fit for his final AAU season and should attract D1 coaches across a variety of levels this spring.

One of the most talked about transfers in the area showed this past Saturday that he is going to be a great fit for the talented Carroll lineup. We all know that Matos can splash three and he did that again at the Never Forget Classic. However, Matos also served notice that he is more than just a lefty, long range sniper. Matos excelled in Carroll’s up-tempo style as he ran the floor well and finished through contact. He also pushed the rock on the fast break for scores and assists. In the half-court Matos scored on several straight-line drives too. Finally, Matos appeared to have grown taller than his listed height and added muscle to his frame.
