Carolina Pressure Duo Plays Solid:
Tyler Stephens Tyler Stephens 6'4" | SF Blythewood | 2025 State SC and Jacarey Ballard Jacarey Ballard 6'0" | CG Lancaster | 2025 State SC both has solid performances with us in the gym this weekend. Stephens a forward who plays a bit as a TWEENER on the floor. Tyler was constantly around the ball on both ends of the court. He was able to contribute screens or simply crash the glass for rebounds. Stephens plays at Blythewood HS.
Ballard came firing on all cylinders at time today. Jacarey was playing aggressive going to the cup or simply pulling up and knocking down jumpers. Ballard plays at Lancaster HS. He has good length at times where he will pick up deflections in the passing lanes.
Team 803 Duo Lead the Way:
Nigel Chivers Nigel Chivers 5'11" | CG Lugoff-Elgin | 2025 State SC and Karon Brown Karon Brown 6'6" | PF West Florence | 2025 State SC make things go for the Team 803 and Head Coach Zyrique Bradford. Chivers a point guard from Lugoff-Elgin HS in the Midlands was able to get the ball to spots today when he was connecting on some short jumpers.
Brown a slender-sleek forward attends West Florence HS in the Pee Dee. Karon does a good job of collecting rebounds on both ends of the floor and manufacturing points on putbacks.
Salley Has A MOTOR:
Ja’Kease Salley Ja’Kease Salley 6'5" | SF Woodland | 2025 State SC plays the game with a HIGH MOTOR at all times around the bucket. Salley plays down at Woodland HS in the Lowcountry and runs with the Charleston Raptors . Ja’Kease delivers results on just complete effort and willingness to work. Salley plays the game as an ideal R-J-A (Run-Jump-Athlete).
Berry Can Score the Rock:
Nas Berry Nas Berry 6'1" | CG Fort Mill | 2025 State SC was able to score the ball this weekend from the guard position. Berry who runs with PSB Elite Barnes was able to get the ball downhill time after time today. Nas was able to get the ball into paint when he wasn’t knocking a jumper from time to time. Berry attends Fort Mill HS in the Upstate.
Drummond a 2-sport Athlete:
Bryson Drummond Bryson Drummond 6'2" | CG Mountain View Prep | 2025 State SC will attend Mountain View Prep in Spartanburg next fall. Drummond a Quarterback on the gridiron moonlights in basketball from time to time. Bryson was able to connect on some floaters to the rack today with his play. He showed really good patience out top and was able to deliver some buckets through contact today in a win over 1 of 1 Prep. He finished with 11 points in the win.
Gold Stars Tandem:
Shannon Davis Shannon Davis 6'2" | CG Crestwood | 2025 State SC and Jarius Davis Jarius Davis 6'4" | SF South Florence | 2025 State SC . This tandem are not brothers at all. Shannon plays at Crestwood HS while Jarius runs at South Florence HS. Shannon really likes to play out on the perimeter and on the baseline. He was able to make some jumpers here today for the Gold Stars squad.
Jarius is a very versatile player who can play anywhere from 1-3 on the floor at times. The left-handed Davis got the ball downhill at times when he was connecting on some jumpers. This tandem will help win a few games this Grassroots season for Head Coach Yusuf English that’s for sure.
