This gathering at the esteemed Boo Williams Sportsplex signified a new era in youth hoops and provided a platform to showcase much of North America’s future basketball stars.
Identical to my eight-part, Jr. EYBL Chicago feature, in these articles I’ll spotlight standout performers from each pool match-up at the respective event through a series of superlatives. Once again, it’s important to note that the first year of the Nike Jr. EYBL encompasses only eighth-grade teams, thus the included prospects are exclusively from the Class of 2028. Beginning with Pool A and culminating with the final group in Pool H, this sequence of exclusive recaps is intended to capture the essence of talent participating in this inaugural circuit.

Additionally, there were moments during the weekend where Wilson stepped up and carried the Florida Rebels , showing his ability to elevate his game and take on a leadership role when needed most.

His adeptness at orchestrating the offense and setting up his teammates for success was evident throughout the weekend, solidifying his reputation as a player who can elevate the performance of those around him.

Jeremaine Agyreman may have been flying under the radar, but his performance at the recent Nike Jr. EYBL Super Regional in Hampton showcased why he deserves attention. Peter Julius
Peter Julius emerged as a dominant force for the Georgia Stars at the Nike Jr. EYBL Super Regional in Hampton, particularly in the paint. Leveraging his impressive strength and size, Julius asserted his presence around the rim, consistently outmuscling opponents to secure rebounds and control the paint. His ability to dominate the boards was evident as he outrebounded everyone on the court, showcasing his relentless tenacity and determination to control the interior game. Julius’s commanding presence in the paint and his ability to impose his will on both ends of the floor make him a valuable asset for the Georgia Stars .
Event Superlative Award: BEST SCORER
AJ Williams AJ Williams 6’2″ | PG New Hampstead | 2027 State GA of Georgia Stars once again demonstrated why he’s regarded as one of the premier scorers in the Class of 2028 at the Nike Jr. EYBL Super Regional in Hampton. With a diverse scoring arsenal at his disposal, Williams showcased his ability to put the ball in the basket in various ways, making him a constant scoring threat for his team. What sets Williams apart is his patience and composure on the court. Rather than forcing the issue, he allows the game to come to him, displaying a mature understanding of when to attack and when to facilitate. This approach makes him particularly challenging to defend, as defenders are often left guessing his next move. Williams’s combination of scoring prowess, patience, and basketball IQ solidifies his status as a top-tier talent and a nightmare matchup for opposing defenses.
