ORANGE/LOS ANGELES COUNTIES — The first installment of the Elite Hoops Association and MADE Hoops west coast circuit brought in many of Southern California's top independent programs and a handful of shoe circuit teams for a two-day club event. Below we break down some of the top slashers we saw on the weekend.

[player_tooltip player_id='1817914' first='Brian' last='Amunueke'] | California Stars | 2024

Amunueke is a long, wiry and dynamic open court athlete whose ability to get downhill and elevate for tough finishes landed him on this list. The 6-foot-4 wing is best in transition where he can drive and get to the cup on his own or fill the lane and take a pass from a teammate for an explosive one-two finish.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956470' first='Chace' last='Holley'] | Team Why Not 16s | 2026

Holley's game is the perfect fit for spring and summer basketball as his combination of speed and vertical athleticism make him an elite transition finisher. The 6-foot-2 combo guard gets downhill quickly, stays on-balance through contact and is fearless when attacking the basket regardless of rim protecting.

[player_tooltip player_id='1502806' first='Isaiah' last='Bernard'] | Cali Rebels | 2024

Bernard is your prototypical slasher-type prospect because of his combination of size, length and explosive athleticism around the basket. The 6-foot-4 wing gets out and fills the lane in transition for downhill finishes at the rim. He can also use the bounce and his shiftiness to beat defenders off the dribble in isolation situations.

[player_tooltip player_id='2131786' first='Markee' last='White Jr.'] | Paul George Elite 16s | 2026

White is a slasher more in the sense of his ability to move without the ball and get into the lane for high percentage finishes and creates second chance opportunities with his ability to get on the offensive boards. The 6-foot-6 sophomore has an impressive combination of size and length to go along with his natural athletic gifts.

[player_tooltip player_id='1956464' first='Tajh' last='Ariza'] | Team Why Not 17s | 2026

Ariza continues to add skill and production to his next-level frame and athleticism. The 6-foot-8 wing is a dribble, pass and shoot prospect whose fluid mobility with the ball in his hands in transition, combined with his quick-twitch change of direction and leaping abilities, make him a handful for defenses to deal with in the open court.

[player_tooltip player_id='1630616' first='Tounde' last='Yessoufou'] | Team Why Not 17s | 2025

Yessoufou is one of the most dynamic athletes in the country and just about every game he plays in he would land on the best slashers list. The 6-foot-5 wing/forward has the frame, strength, burst of speed and pop off the floor that you see at the highest levels of basketball and most defenders at this level don't have the physical tools to keep him out of the lane. Yessoufou is a walking double-double and poster dunk finisher.
