Let’s just start out with the most obvious. Gibson was quite simply the best player in the gym over the course of the weekend. He’s a slippery athlete that can attack with his jumper and by finding lanes to the rim. Gibson can handle with both hands and switch the ball between them with ease. He was a big game player at the Storm Classic, putting up 25 in the semifinals and 15 in the championship game. This is the kind of weekend that turns into offers.
Seth Mead
Seth Mead
This is what grassroots basketball is all about. Mead put his name on the map with a performance at the Storm Classic. He had the look of a talented point guard and was comfortable as the primary ball handler. Mead was unfazed by ball pressure. He showed that he could get his offensively scoring 20 points in a win.
Weston had a very good weekend in Grand Rapids. He did a nice job utilizing his quickness and ability to change directions with the ball in his hands. Weston is a player that you want to see handle it when your team needs a play made. He averaged 13 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals per game at the event.

Rosenberg had some head turning moments for the North Oakland Wolfpack 17u team. He was really active on the glass and proved that he could physical under the rim. It felt like he was pushing 10 rebounds every single game. Rosenberg had 18 points in 1 game and 9 in another, both of which seemed like he was very close to a points and rebounds double-double.

Strong, and really the entire Shore National team, made a strong statement at the Storm Classic. I probably could have picked a handful from their team. But Strong was consistently a factor game in and game out. He was dependable and smart with the ball. Strong scored at a high level averaging 16.6 points per game.

Brendan Cargill
Brendan Cargill
This is the second year in a row that Cargill has had an outstanding late April/early May grassroots performance. He should probably see a number next to his name at the next rankings update. Cargill once again showed the ability to go off on the offensive end with a 20 point output in a hard fought loss.
