How do you get into the GameChanger article? By being a difference-maker for your team, being unselfish, consistently making plays, diving on the floor, playing hard all game, boarding up, getting D-stops, being a glue guy, scoring timely buckets, hitting game-changing triples, and many others.
Abakar Miganoudji Abakar Miganoudji 6'5" | PF Fargo South | 2026 State ND (’26) |6’5 F| Beyond The Game
WHY?
He was dominant on Friday night. The opposing squad could not handle Abakar’s size/length and athleticism. He showed off his above-the-rim play with three dunks in the opening round contest. The talented Bruins also hit from 3, blocked shots, scored in transition, and cleaned up the glass.
Bennett Larson Bennett Larson 6'7" | C Stanley | 2026 State ND (’26) |6’7 C| 3ND Hoops Fam ’25
WHY?
He was playing up and age group and had a big impact on games because of his physicality and non-stop motor. Larson had no trouble creating space and he drew a good amount of attention from opposing teams. He made this article because of his rebounding and rim protecting. Larson was a complete GameChanger because of his work on the glass, especially on the O-boards. He had a his share of blocks around the hoop as well.
Carson Quam Carson Quam 6'0" | SF Shiloh Christian | 2026 State ND (’26) |6’0 G/SF| & Corbyn Follingstad Corbyn Follingstad 6'6" | PF Fargo South | 2026 State ND (’26) |6’6 PF| Bearstail Basketball 2026
WHY?
These two did the little things for Bearstail and they finished the weekend with a 3-1 record. Game 1 of the event was the best that I have seen Bearstail play, they are trending in the right direction. Carson & Corbyn played like high-quality glue-guys. They hustled, rebounded, and played hard on defense.
Dawson Noem Dawson Noem 6'4" | SF Hamlin | 2025 State SD (’25) |6’4 F| Hoop City 2025
WHY?
He guarded four different positions and was not afraid to bang/get physical with bigger players. Noem was the loudest player in the gym while directing his teammates on the backside of the defense. Dawson took multiple charges on defense and made numerous winning plays.
Drake Schlosser Drake Schlosser 6'2" | SG Stanley | 2025 State ND (’25) |6’2 G| 3ND Hoops Fam ’25
WHY?
He made this article because of his hustle, effort, energy, and ability on the defensive end of the floor. Drake is a long guard with impressive mobility and athleticism. Schlosser is a multi-sport athlete who is getting serious attention from D2 & D1 football programs.
Gilman Sheldon Gilman Sheldon 6'2" | SF Century | 2025 State ND (’25) |6’2 G| & Xavier Ames Xavier Ames 6'8" | SF Fargo Davies | 2025 State ND (’25) |6’8 PF| ND Phenom 2025-2
WHY?
Phenom represented North Dakota well, they went 4-0 for a perfect record! Sheldon was a GameChanger because of his unrelenting and tenacious defense. Gil also looked tough on the offensive end. Ames was a GcameChanger with his consistent rebounding and control of the paint. The BIG also showed off his versatility on offense.
Hayden Seay Hayden Seay 5'9" | PG Bishop Ryan | 2026 State ND (’26) |5’9 G| ND Phenom 2025-2
WHY?
He is a winning PG & table-setter. Seay helped Phenom go 4-0 at TC Takedown. When I was watching, Hayden did not try to do too much and he let the game come to him. His teammates were shooting well and Seay got the ball to the hot hand. He did good work against the fullcourt press & pressure defense. Despite his size, Hayden got in the paint and grabbed an O-board. After securing the ball, he quickly dished a dime. Seay showed off his scoring ability with a cool slash-n-score at the rim. I also liked his demeanor on the court.
Jackson Wadsworth Jackson Wadsworth 6'2" | SG Hamlin | 2026 State SD (’26) |6’2 G| Hoop City 2025
WHY?
Jackson was playing up an age group and still looked good. He stood out with his hustle and I loved it when I saw him diving on the floor for a loose ball. Wadsworth looked good scoring in traffic against bigger players. I was impressed with his sweet inside-hand finish, Jackson is a talented & versatile scorer.
Kaden Flavin Kaden Flavin 5'11" | CG Minot North | 2025 State ND (’25) |5’11 G| 3ND Hoops Fam ’25
WHY?
When I watched, Flavin was sitting out with a high ankle sprain. However, that did not keep him from having a positive impact on the contest. Flavin was yelling, cheering, and coaching from the bench all game. If a teammate missed a shot, he offered encouragement, when a teammate made a shot, he was the loudest one cheering him on. He was also helping out by talking about the opposing defense and directing guys on the floor. When his teammates came out of the game, Flavin was the first to offer support. I was highly impressed with his maturity and communication. Despite being out with an injury, he was still 100% positive. Kaden is a centerpiece for 3ND, a skilled player, and a great leader. When healthy in the tournament, Flavin knocked down some big 3-pointers in close games.
Makiya Berryhill Makiya Berryhill 6'0" | SG Bismarck Legacy | 2026 State ND (’26) |6’0 G| 3ND Hoops Fam ’25
WHY?
He was playing up an age group and Makiya exploded for an impressive game on Sunday morning. Berryhill went off for 17 points, dished 4 assists, grabbed 3 rebounds, and showed off his athleticism with a sneaky steal and a breakaway bouncy DUNK. In the Sunday AM game, Makiya was 6/12 on FG’s, 1/2 from 3pt, and 4/5 on FT’s.
Marshall Smythe Marshall Smythe 6'2" | PG Tea Area | 2025 State SD (’25) |6’2 G| Hoop City 2025
WHY?
He took it upon himself to set an example of defending hard game-in and game-out. This kid has heart and he plays with high NRG. Smythe caused many issues with his length and natural instincts. He also rebounded well all weekend. Smythe looks to be a great teammate.
Owen Duffy Owen Duffy 6'0" | SG Sioux Falls Lincoln | 2026 State SD (’26) |6’0 G| South Dakota Elite Basketball 2026
WHY?
SD Elite finished the weekend with a quality 3-1 record. Duffy made the GameChanger article because he stood out on defense, he was really good all weekend on that end. Owen was productive creating TO’s, deflecting passes, and stealing the basketball.
Rylee Bears Tail Rylee Bears Tail 6'3" | SG Mandan | 2026 State ND (’26) |6’3 G| Bearstail Basketball 2026
WHY?
His squad went 3-1 at TC Takedown and they had a nice showing. Rylee was a big part of that success. He had the ball in his hands often, he created for others, dropped dimes, held up on D, and scored from a variety of levels. He is a primary ballhandler but also did get work on the glass. Rylee has a well-rounded game.
