The event featured players from the class of 2025, 2026, 2027 and 2028 all looking for the opportunity to increase, or in the case of the 2028 class get on the rankings radar. Several players used the games as an opportunity for the later. Here’s a look at some new names from the event.
My first time watching the 2028 guard and I was impressed. He has a good offensive skill set and shot the heck out of the ball. He made a ton of corner threes in the game, and flashed a strong handle when facing pressure in both the full and 1 v 1 situations. He was one of the most impressive players in the 2028 game.
Fowler was one of the biggest players at the camp, but he showed terrific outside shooting skills. The unranked player, certainly earned a ranking with his performance. He showed tremendous shooting versatility, knocking down shots from pick and pop, catch and shoot, and off the bounce. He made a few pull up threes, as well as a couple off multiple COD dribbles.
Teah had an impressive showing to put himself on the radar. He made several nice finishes on drives and displayed the ability to shoot it from outside. The 2025 shooting guard has the distinction of hitting the first Elam Ending shot in Venom Rankings Run history, knocking down a corner three to win the 2025 game.
I had heard a little bit about Roberts before the event, and he impressed during. Once I was able to accurately identify the Gorman Wing, I found myself impressed. He had a good handle, and was accurate in catch and shoot action. The event was a good platform for what could be a strong Spring Grassroots season for him.
Graves was the type of player that always seemed to be around the ball. He played hard, sprinting the floor and finishing in transition. He also managed to find several buckets off offensive rebounds, showing quickness to the ball, rebounding and completing the layup.
Highlights
I liked what Crockett did on both sides of the ball. He competed hard on the defensive end, moving his feet and being a genuine pest on the defensive end. On the offensive end, he aggressively attacked, probing the defense, while getting consistent lane touches off the bounce. The jitterbug PG had a good showing for himself.
Highlights
The lefty showed some good stuff. He flashed an impressive handle, weaving his way through defenders. The guard played with a little wiggle and managed to get to the cup as well as knock down open shots in catch and shoot action.
I can’t wait to go back and watch more film on Jordan. He had a good showing in the 2027 game, especially on the offensive end. He made open threes from catch and shoot action, and did a good job of attacking in transition. The freshman coming off a championship year at Sierra Vista, was a surprising fresh face at the event.
Harris is a player that came in with a big time reputation. He did not disappoint. I thought he did a really good job of picking his spots, and then attacking. He showed the ability to shoot the ball off the bounce, which made him even more dangerous when attacking the rim. He impressed so well that he was named 2028 game MVP by the judges.
The young PG did well for himself. He showed good skill, flashing solid, passing, shooting and handling skill. He did a good job making shots in catch in shoot action, showing that he can be effective playing both backcourt positions.
