Here’s a look at part three of the top wings in the class, ranking the top 5 shooting guards and small forwards in the sophomore class.
5) Kyren Ogelsby Kyren Ogelsby 6'4" | SG Virginia Academy | 2026 State VA | 6’4” SG | Handley (#17 Overall)
Ogelsby had a great junior year earning All Region honors and helping Handley to a state tournament bid, and their young group is only going to get better over the next few years. The first thing you notice with Ogelsby is that he looks the part, with a strong frame and good size to be on the perimeter that also allows him to play and guard multiple positions at this level. He can score the ball well around the rim and in the midrange, he’s improving on his consistency from deep and he’s a very good rebounder and defender for his position too.
4) Zaevion Cleveland Zaevion Cleveland 6'4" | SF Landstown | 2026 State VA | 6’4” SF | Landstown (#13 Overall)
Cleveland is one of those elite level athletes who has also started to pick up football and is a standout there as well, and he is simply able to make plays that others can’t make and he makes it look easy too. He gets above the rim effortlessly whether it’s getting downhill or out in transition off the bounce, catching lobs on set plays or soaring to grab rebounds as well. He has a great frame that will continue to fill out moving forward, and as he continues to improve his perimeter skillset he’ll be a guy to keep an eye on moving forward.
3) Isaiah Brown Isaiah Brown 6'0" | SG Westfield | 2026 State VA | 6’1” SG | Westfield (#12 Overall)
Brown may be a little undersized right now as a two guard, but he’s likely still growing and he has shown he is one of the top shotmakers in NOVA public school basketball already. Despite his size he can work on or off the ball to get open and get good looks at the rim, and he has the ability to make difficult shots at a high clip from multiple spots on the floor. He is a dead eye shooter with deep range and a quick release, he can get to his spots in the midrange and he can get downhill where he’s a good finisher and gets to the line often as well.
2) Deshawn Spellman Deshawn Spellman 6'6" | SF Landstown | 2026 State VA | 6’7” SF | Landstown (#4 Overall)
If there’s anyone on this list that you look at and say “he must be really good at basketball,” it’s Spellman who already stands 6’7” with long arms and a great perimeter skillset to go along with it. He’s one of the top shooters you’ll find in the 757 regardless of class, and the fact that he has prototypical size for a high major wing already separates him from much of the pack and bolds well for him moving forward. He’s able to use his length to shoot over defenders while also getting deflections and challenging shots defensively, he’s a good athlete who can get up and down in transition and moves his feet well laterally and he continues to improve with playing with the ball in his hands.
1) Quincy Wadley Quincy Wadley 6'5" | SF Bishop O'Connell | 2026 State VA | 6’4” SG | Bishop O’Connell (#3 Overall)
Wadley rounds out the top 3 of our very good early list for the 2026 rankings, and it’s really a toss up where he could be argued to be the top player in the class with what he’s done so far in high school and AAU. He was named to the First Team All WCAC group as a freshman, something that is almost unheard of, while also leading Team Takeover’s 16U group while playing up last summer. At 6’4” he has the size and frame that will translate to college, along with a knack for making shots and making plays both on and off the ball. He is unselfish and sees the floor well with the ball in his hands and when he catches it reading rotations, he can drill it from well beyond the college line, he is a good athlete and brings a toughness to his team and he’s a heads up defender as well.
