With the recent update of the class of 2026 rankings, we will take a look at how the rankings are broke down by position.

Here's a look at part one of the top guards in the class, ranking some of the top point and combo guards in the sophomore class.

25) Cole Forbich | 5'9” PG | Evergreen Christian (#57 Overall)

Forbich is next up on an Evergreen team that is up and coming, and he played a big role for them as both a ball handler and a shooter throughout the season. He's a dead eye shooter who sets his feet quickly, he has deep range and he can create for himself and others off the bounce.

24) [player_tooltip player_id='2347781' first='Kai' last='Wilcox'] | 5'10” PG | Patriot (#55 Overall)

Wilcox has emerged in a big way this season helping Patriot back to another state championship appearance as he played a big role for them off the bench. He's a high energy guy who comes in ready to give big effort, he's a very good defender who moves his feet and has good hands and he can knock down shots from deep when he's open.

23) [player_tooltip player_id='1963526' first='Trey' last='Beamer'] | 6'2” PG | Carlisle (#50 Overall)

We missed the cue on this one as Beamer should be much higher on this list, as he's already scored over 1,000 points in his two years of basketball and led Carlisle back to another state championship appearance this year. He's a strong and shifty guard who can get downhill and is an athletic finisher at the rim, he can create space and make shots from all three levels and he has takeover ability many don't have.

22) [player_tooltip player_id='2252325' first='Daylen' last='Martino'] | 5'8” PG | Meridian (#49 Overall)

Martino moved up quite a bit from the last rankings as he built upon a good freshman season to become the leader on this Meridian team this year. He's a floor general who is a pass-first playmaker, he controls tempo and handles pressure well and he sets the tone on both ends of the floor for his group.

21) [player_tooltip player_id='1588134' first='Zyon' last='McGlone'] | 5'10” PG | King's Fork (#48 Overall)

McGlone was part of a very talented backcourt this year on King's Fork and sometimes got overshadowed, but he had his moments where he showed how good he will be. He can flat out score the ball as he's quick and gets downhill to the rim, he can create space and make shots at multiple levels and he's a microwave scorer who can get hot quickly.

20) [player_tooltip player_id='1963529' first='Daion' last='Jones'] | 6'0” PG | Varina (#47 Overall)

Jones is still waiting his turn but when he gets the chance to show what he can do he is a very talented guard with a lot of upside moving forward. He simply has a knack for making plays with his quick first step and shifty ball handling, his ability to get downhill and finish over bigger defender and his ability to jump passing lanes and turn defense to offense.

19) [player_tooltip player_id='1782688' first='Khaliq' last='Carson'] | 5'10” PG | Bishop Ireton (#45 Overall)

Carson is the type of guard that coaches love to have on his team, as he may not be the biggest guy on the court but he fears nothing and brings great energy to his team. He is a defensive minded guard who can guard the length of the floor, he is quick off the bounce and makes plays when the defense breaks down and he's improved a lot with his ability to score it as well.

18) [player_tooltip player_id='1782691' first='Jordan' last='Hunter'] | 6'1” PG | Paul VI (#41 Overall)

Hunter is the type of guy who could be a star on a lot of teams but is overshadowed on one of the top teams in the country, but that doesn't mean his time isn't coming moving forward. He's a very good defender who pressures ball handlers, he's able to break down defenders off the bounce, he is dynamic as a playmaker and finisher in transition and he brings a great attitude and hustle to his team.

17) [player_tooltip player_id='1963398' first='Will' last='Davis'] | 5'10” CG | Meridian (#39 Overall)

Davis is part of a young backcourt at Meridian that will be a handful to deal with moving forward and they compliment each other very well. He's an experienced guard who can play on or off the ball, he's a dead eye shooter from deep with great form who is extremely consistent and he's very good at attacking closeouts and finishing int he midrange as well.

16) [player_tooltip player_id='1963547' first='Braxton' last='Sebastian'] | 5'9” PG | Robinson (#36 Overall)

Sebastian may not be the biggest guy on his team, but he continues to move up the rankings as he has been nothing but stellar as one of the top floor generals in NOVA. He is a good ball handler who handles pressure and controls the tempo well, he's excellent in pick-and-rolls with great reads and the ability to turn the corner, he is a good on ball defender who brings toughness and he can score from multiple levels too.
