Jack Melore Jack Melore 6'1" | SG Smithtown West | 2024 State NY is not in this report only because he was a 16th team selection last year. Carter Wilson Carter Wilson 5'10" | PG Bayshore | 2025 State NY (pictured #1) was selected last season to an honorable mention. Both of these players should be on all state teams as well this year.
Coming back from an off season injury did not slow down this players consideration for an all state selection. He averaged 22 ppg. He can score inside and out. Also very good at the charity stripe. An outstanding rebounder. Has already eclipsed 1000 points in his high school career. A complete player on both ends.
Joey averaged 18 ppg and had 12 games where he drained 2 or more threes. Outstanding at crunch time because of his decision making and really good at the foul line. Excellent skill set and understands his role as the PG. Strong finisher in transition. Excellent ball handler is able to create space for himself.
Highlights
(Pictured #24) Christian averaged 16 ppg. playing on a well balanced Bayshore squad. Making it to the state championship game. Christian is an athletic active player on both ends. Really good coming off the weak side blocking shots. But also outstanding on the ball defender at the rim. Long player knows how to use his length. Does most of his damage 17 feet and in but is a capable shooter from the perimeter. Gets to the rim and can flush it in traffic off of 2-3 dribbles.
A lot of times players this young don’t make an all state team but Ethan should be considered. Deer Park has put out all state performers before and especially D1 guards. Very quick and explosive with the ball. Understands the importance of changing speed and direction. Averaged 15 ppg while leading the offense on the floor. He had 9 games of connecting on 3 or more threes. A crafty finisher handles the ball with either hand.
Naevon averaged 18 ppg. His all around game has really improved. More of a high post 15 feet and in player in the past. this season he was handling the ball much more and excelling. Displays a nice hesitation dribble and then explodes to the basket. Very quick and can finish with either hand. A playmaking scorer. While still possessing excellentvision out of the high post hitting cutters. Nice soft touch 15 feet and in. Tough rebounder and very active.
