A outstanding showing from this young guard. Showed tremendous poise. Plays the game at his pace he is able to control the tempo. Extremely quick with the ball. Handles the ball with either hand effectively. Crafty finisher in transition and can knock down the three off of half court sets.

Nelson had a breakout season for the Falcons and was one of their primary scorers all year. He showed a solid three level scoring ability, was so tough around the basket, got better by the game and seems to be fully trust by the Deer Park coaching staff. His passing is impressive, he’s a wonderful athlete, understands how to use his body to create contact and has major superstar potential. This young prospect has a big time skillset, great basketball IQ, is loved by his teammates and looks like a future All Long Island selection.

Nelson burst on to the scene this season and put together a terrific season at Deer Park. The 2027 point guard showed his ability to make threes, create around the free throw line, find teammates and was sensational at finishing around the basket. He is a natural scorer, has a high basketball IQ, understands defenses at a young age, has a greta motor and isn’t afraid to get phsyical. We saw flashes early on in the season but when we circled back later on he was checking off all the boxes and looks like the next supserstar decision maker for the Falcons.

A lot of times players this young don’t make an all state team but Ethan should be considered. Deer Park has put out all state performers before and especially D1 guards. Very quick and explosive with the ball. Understands the importance of changing speed and direction. Averaged 15 ppg while leading the offense on the floor. He had 9 games of connecting on 3 or more threes. A crafty finisher handles the ball with either hand.

Already a leader this young player is extremely quick with the ball in his hands. Gets into the lane and can score amongst the trees. Extremely poised will not get sped up understands how to play the team game but at the same time can take over when he needs to.

Should be the starting point guard for the Falcons this coming season. A program that has put out some really good D1 guards. Ethan is a smooth and poised scoring point guard.
