March 15th at 10:00am John Burroughs vs. Logan-Rogersville
Key Players: Tristan Reed Tristan Reed 6'8" | PF John Burroughs | 2026 State MO , Sheek Pearson Sheek Pearson 6'9" | PF John Burroughs | 2026 State MO , Chase Branham Chase Branham 6'3" | PG Logan-Rogersville | 2027 State MO , Scott Metz
Role Players: Ramzi Salem Ramzi Salem 6'3" | CG John Burroughs | 2024 State MO , Owen Walther, Ross Lawrence
Logan-Rogersville being in this game is the story. They were expected to be a solid ball club but not a participant in the Final Four. Much of why they’ve gotten to this point is the play of outstanding freshman, Chase Branham Chase Branham 6'3" | PG Logan-Rogersville | 2027 State MO . He’s a player we shined a light on in last week’s preview of games to watch. A 6’3 shot maker with tons of confidence. He has only gained more confidence as the weeks have gone on. Outside of Branham there’s Scott Metz who’s a productive off-ball player for this team. He converts on easy scoring chances often. Logan-Rogersville is very well coached and will be a tough out for anybody. John Burroughs is also well coached and plays through their bigs. It’s going to be a chess match. Sheek Pearson Sheek Pearson 6'9" | PF John Burroughs | 2026 State MO and Tristan Reed Tristan Reed 6'8" | PF John Burroughs | 2026 State MO will have a huge size advantage on the opposing team and strategy will be key. Will these sophomores have big games? Will Logan-Rogersville front the post and create chaos? These are all questions that need to be answered and will lead to the eventual result. Look out for Owen Walther. The 2025 sharpshooter is a player who has had big games at times and can get hot from three. This is an x-factor.
March 15th at 12:00pm Vashon vs. Kansas City Central
Key Players: Nicholas Randall Nicholas Randall 6'8" | PF Vashon | 2025 State #96 Nation MO , Trey Williams, Nassir Binion Nassir Binion 6'4" | SG Vashon | 2024 State MO , Brandon Moore Brandon Moore 6'2" | CG Cristo Ray | 2024 State MO , Timothy Wooden
Role Players: Christian Williams Christian Williams 5'9" | PG Vashon | 2025 State MO , Dehrio McCaskill Dehrio McCaskill 6'4" | SG Vashon | 2025 State MO , Zahir Ragsdale
Two teams who play a similar style. This one is going to be an up-and-down game with lots of defensive pressure and a tough rugged style. Vashon is the undisputed favorite because of their raw talent level and size across the board. They create problems for opponents because of their 6’9 big, Nicholas Randall Nicholas Randall 6'8" | PF Vashon | 2025 State #96 Nation MO , and being able to sub in waves. This is one of the only teams in the state that can sub five new players in at any point in the game. They’re always fresh and wear teams down with their depth. The battle of Timothy Wooden and Trey Williams will be a fun one to watch. Both are guards who make the three at a high clip and can get downhill with speed. They’re two of the best combo guards in their respective classes. Another matchup that will be key is the one between Nassir Binion Nassir Binion 6'4" | SG Vashon | 2024 State MO and Brandon Moore Brandon Moore 6'2" | CG Cristo Ray | 2024 State MO . Both are seniors fighting for a spot at the next level. They have a similar 6’5 frame and jump out of the gym. Being able to earn extra shots for their team will be something they look to do and can excel at. Should Kansas City Central win this game it would be an upset by the eyes of most. Vashon has the pressure of being the expected state champions.
