On Wednesday Feb 28th I attended the Final-4 of the OPEN Playoffs at Chaparral where Millennium defeated Notre Dame Prep 65-38 and the last game of the AIA season On Saturday night was the FINAL of the OPEN where Perry defeated Millennium 71-67.

Here were the Standouts

2024

[player_tooltip player_id='1293439' first='Sabien' last='Cain'] Millennium

Arguably the top playoff performance in the semis and finals. He scored an impressive 33 in the Finals versus Perry and 19 in the semis. He hit an all-worldly 11 threes in two games. He shoots them mostly off the catch but he created a few for himself. He is sneaky quick to get downhill thru contact and can hesitate and score on reverse layups. He takes charges and rebounds well.

[player_tooltip player_id='1123040' first='Anthony' last='Batson Jr'] Notre Dame Prep

An athletic scoring guard has elite speed in transition. He can crossover into a bucket and will take it into the chest of the shot blocker. He will dunk it above the rim on the break and make smart reads to teammates. He takes charges and will block shots at the top of the box impressively.

[player_tooltip player_id='2368045' first='Don' last='Tinsley'] Perry

A thicker wing forward is a two way stud. He plays football and brings that attitude to the hard court. He is a physical on-ball defender and a great rebounder. He will hit the catch three and play a little bully ball downhill. He scores on put backs and will collect steals and block shots. His ability to defend and score was a big reason of why they won the OPEN.

[player_tooltip player_id='996175' first='Barron' last='Silsby'] Perry

A scoring lead guard was very quiet in the first half but broke out in the second half. He scored all 10 of his points when it mattered with deep threes off the catch, layups and got to the free throw line. He took pressure off of Koa and co in the final two quarters.

2025

[player_tooltip player_id='1129193' first='Koa' last='Peat'] Perry (Pictured)

One of the best players in the entire AIA showed his value. Not only is he a three level scorer and an almost impossible match-up but a multi positional defender. He literally defended all three of their top scorers with Tosi, Cain and Holmes. He scores with fall aways in the post, and-1's in traffic, as he takes a bump better then anyone. He scores on mid-range jumpers, threes, he has advanced footwork and is an elite level rebounder and quick second jumper. He is a very good passer and shot blocker. He finished with a balanced 21 points 13 rebounds and 4 assists.

[player_tooltip player_id='1301344' first='Kingston' last='Tosi'] Millennium

Tosi had two good showings. He scored 19 points in the semis and 12 and 7 rebounds in the finals. He scores with quick moves to the basket. He can counter move and score on his defender, post up and is a quick leaper, ball fake and float it in off of his own created shot. He is a high level rebounder is a quick second jumper out of his area and he will block shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='996172' first='D'Andre' last='Harrison'] Perry

A highly effective power forward is a three level scorer. He scores on catch threes, and-1's in traffic, offensive rebound put backs, euros down the lane and will go in the chest of the taller defender. He leaps up quickly and keeps the ball high and has good hands to catch tough passes. He scored 17 points with 9 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150848' first='Nolan' last='Brown'] Perry

A jet quick scoring point guard can score with catch threes, speed drives with his left or right hand and hustles on both sides of the court. He will make passes up the court, rebounds and is tough on the ball with his quick feet.

[player_tooltip player_id='1150844' first='Quincy' last='Everson'] Millennium

A combo guard who can score on threes off the catch, and-1's in the lane, offensive rebound put backs and mid-range pull-ups off the dribble. He will rebound, take charges and makes smart reads.

[player_tooltip player_id='996176' first='Bryce' last='Quinet'] Notre Dame Prep

A cerebral and highly skilled point guard. He has deep three point range and finds a way to free himself to get his shot off. He gets himself to the FT line once he gets downhill and can post up to score. He will throw the perfect lob pass, he'll rebound and dive on the floor for a loose ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='1351129' first='JT' last='Amundsen'] Millennium

A skilled combo guard is turning into that 3 and D type. He will take charges and keeps improving his on-ball defense. He main weapon is his three point shooting off the catch. Once one goes in, he gets hot quickly.

2026

[player_tooltip player_id='1150822' first='Cameron' last='Holmes'] Millennium

An all-around wing forward showed off his full repertoire in the Finals. He is very fast in the open court and will outrace most to score. He will get downhill to the rim, slowly back you down to score with hook shots, hit threes with range, make plays for others and defend the 1-4. He finished with an impressive line of 15 points 5 rebounds 7 assists 3 steals and 3 blocks.

[player_tooltip player_id='1323295' first='Brayden' last='Barrett'] Millennium

A wing forward who can score with mid-range pull-ups off the dribble and catch triples. He grabs rebounds in his area, he will collect steals and will score with floaters.
