Alter came out focused on both ends and I thought Conner made a big impact defensively. Rotating in the zone, blocking shots, getting into passing lanes, Conner gave Ursuline fits with his length. Early on, Conner made a nice catch in traffic for an early layup off a nice cut. With his size advantage, Conner also went into the post and hit some turnaround jumpers just simply shooting over defenders. His passing is one of his best skills and Alter moved the ball well all game, Conner made some nice extra passes to shooters for easy looks. One of the most improved players in the state from the 2025 class, it’s started to click for Conner as he impacts the game in a variety of ways and found consistency.
Highlights
The thing I want to see more than anything from Greer is toughness. With multiple strong offensive rebounds and hustle plays to keep his team the ball, including one offensive rebound he had no business getting that led to a layup. One of the elite shooters in Ohio, Greer hit multiple 3’s off DHO’s and has a quick release that’s tough to defend. During one of the rare times where Greer missed an open 3, his teammate got the rebound and found him open on the same possession where he buried the shot. When Alter is sharing the ball and spacing the floor, the Knights are tough to defend and Greer can sink a defense with his microwave scoring ability.
My first-time watching Maysville this season, I was really impressed with Bobb. A quick guard who can shoot the lights out from the outside, Bobb has a quick release and is constantly moving without the ball. His quick first step allows him to create space and he made some sweet moves off the dribble to create for himself out of isolation situations. Able to take a high-volume role, Bobb fired off 21 shots, helping make something happen when the Panthers offense stalled. His ball handling and shooting allowed Maysville to turn the ball over just two times, which was maybe the biggest factor in who won. Bobb is the all time leading scorer in Maysville history and will go down in history after leading his team to the title game with a great effort on Saturday.
When Maysville needed a shot made, Watson stepped up and hit some huge shots from the wing and corner. A smart player, Watson moved well without the ball and made cuts as his teammates found him. 13 assists on 23 made field goals is a great ratio and Watson was the beneficiary of some nice looks by his teammates. Just a Sophomore, the duo of Watson and Gator Nichols Gator Nichols 5’10” | CG Maysville | 2026 State OH were crucial as the Panthers look to continue to build on this run for the future as well. A name to know in eastern Ohio’s 2026 class, Watson and the Panthers will get a lot of buzz the next two seasons.
Bruskotter has taken his game to another level these playoffs and a 34-point performance on 13/16 from the field was incredible to watch. Flat out leaving it all on the court, Bruskotter made shot after shot from the outside and was efficient on drives where he used his size and strength. One of the best players to come through Shelby in school history, Bruskotter’s playoff run will be remembered by the Whippet faithful for a long time. Committed to Wright State, I expect Bruskotter to push to see the floor early in his college career.
