Brady Conner

Expert Analysis

Tremendous performance from Connor in his last career game for Alter. A great run for the senior class as they won a state title last season and picked up a conference title and regional finalist this season. Connor made some timely shots from the outside, had a breakaway dunk and overall made a big impact on both ends of the court. A prospect with a ton of upside long-term, I’ll be curious to see how his college career pans out as things really just started to click for him about 14 months ago. When you consider his impressive rate of improvement, sky is the limit for what he can accomplish down the road.

One of the youngest players in Ohio’s 2025 class, Conner is filled with upside. Running the show for Kettering Alter this season, Conner has the size to see over defenders and make basically any pass on the court. I still think he’ll be a wing at the college level for Wright State, but it never hurts to have more than one player who can handle and pass the ball at a high level, it’s a bonus when that player stands at 6’6. Hoping to see more consistency from Conner this winter, he had some really bright moments during the state championship run and during the grassroots season and also some quieter games. All part of the development process for Conner.

Alter came out focused on both ends and I thought Conner made a big impact defensively. Rotating in the zone, blocking shots, getting into passing lanes, Conner gave Ursuline fits with his length. Early on, Conner made a nice catch in traffic for an early layup off a nice cut. With his size advantage, Conner also went into the post and hit some turnaround jumpers just simply shooting over defenders. His passing is one of his best skills and Alter moved the ball well all game, Conner made some nice extra passes to shooters for easy looks. One of the most improved players in the state from the 2025 class, it’s started to click for Conner as he impacts the game in a variety of ways and found consistency.

Like his older brother, Conner is a late bloomer who has really started to figure things out as a Junior with Alter. His size, passing and ball handling ability is a unique set of skills for a player of his age. A player who will fit better next to other talent, Conner is comfortable setting the table and using his positional size to make an impact defensively. Always flashed a lot of natural ability, Conner’s production is slowly starting to match the raw talent he’s always had. While Conner shot 37% from 3-point range and 67% from the foul line, I’m hoping the volume on both of these shots goes way up next season. As much as I love Conner’s passing ability and ball handling for his size, he has the ability to be more aggressive as a scorer.

Conner is a late blooming prospect, similar to his older brother Jacob who currently plays at Marshall. Kettering Alter is one of the top teams in Division II with Conner stuffing the stat sheet. 1.9 steals per game and 3.4 assists per game both rank fourth in the GCL-Co Ed. The size, length and vision that Conner has is a unique set of abilities and translate on the stat sheet. I’m excited to catch Conner this weekend at Flyin’ To The Hoop when lots of the top teams in the Dayton area will take the floor.

Similar to his older brother Jacob, who was a late bloomer at Alter, Brady could see a Junior season surge after getting very limited action at the varsity level as a Sophomore. With his size, ball skills and athleticism, Conner has the talent to be a big time prospect down the road. Already receiving Division I offers from Stetson and Marshall, Conner is a prime breakout candidate this winter for an Alter squad that should contend for a state championship in Division II.

A long term upside play, Conner showed flashes this summer of some intriguing potential. The younger brother of Marshall forward Jacob Conner, Brady was also offered by the Thundering Herd this summer. A long wing who moves his feet well and shows some defensive upside with his length. Conner is developing as an offensive player with the ball in his hands and as a passer. Conner will get a chance to make a varsity impact after only appearing in four games last year. A name to watch in the Dayton area, he could be a difference maker in the always competitive GCL-Co Ed conference title race.
