There were several great players and teams that travelled from multiple states to Edmond, Oklahoma to participate in the Next Southwest Kickoff tournament. These teams ranged from 12U, 13U, and 14U. This article is going over the best of the best for 13U. I am going to talk about the Most Valuable Player for the tournament and the top five guys after that. I am not breaking down by position, but rather who the best players are.
<!-- wp:acf/evaluation-block {"name":"acf/evaluation-block","data":{"player_evaluations_0_player":["2382286"],"_player_evaluations_0_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_0_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":2380638,"_player_evaluations_0_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_0_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"Jeremy Monger played well all-around all weekend. He played well defensively, was showing the ability to finish at the rim or knock down a jumper, or to knock down an occasional three-pointer. For a wing, he rebounded exceptionally well. On defense, he was coming away with steals regularly. Some of these steals and rebounds were leading to assist, as he looked to set his teammates up. He had a great weekend and it was impressive seeing his all-around ability.","_player_evaluations_0_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_1_player":["2382454"],"_player_evaluations_1_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_1_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_1_player_featured_image":2380378,"_player_evaluations_1_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_1_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"[player_tooltip player_id='2382454' first='James' last='Maze'] played decently on both sides of the ball. On defense, he came away with steals and showed the ability to finish in transition. He grabbed some rebounds that resulted in assists or him finishing in transition. On offense, he showed the I.Q to identify that the defense was in a zone before inbounding the ball. He showed the ability to attack the gaps to break down defense, which resulted in him finishing at the rim or getting an assist. He came away with an offensive rebound and putback. To go along with all of that, he knocked down a couple of threes. He was the second best player on a team that made it to the championship game.","_player_evaluations_1_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_2_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_2_player_details_selected_featured_image":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_2_player_details_player_name":"Jeremiah Washington","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_2_player_details_graduating_class":"2029","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_2_player_details_height":"null","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_2_player_details_position":"77243","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_2_player_details_school":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_2_player_details_club_team":"Arnold Elite 2029 Austin","_player_evaluations_2_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_2_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_2_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"Jeremiah Washington made a big impact with his rebounding. He grabbed one rebound after another, with some offensive rebounds resulting in second chance points. He showed hustle by running and diving to get loose balls. On defense, he played good interior defense in both of the games that I saw. He showed the capability of getting blocks and steals. If you are looking for someone that can rebound, hustle, and defend, this might be your guy.","_player_evaluations_2_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_3_player":["2382114"],"_player_evaluations_3_player":"field_62ab9d62ecf2c","player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":["override_image"],"_player_evaluations_3_override_profile_image":"override-player-profile-image","player_evaluations_3_player_featured_image":2389011,"_player_evaluations_3_player_featured_image":"field_62f141137ead9","player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"","_player_evaluations_3_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"Brandon Wilson played great defensively this weekend. He showed elite abilities on defense, harassing the ball handler everywhere he went and coming away with steals. I recorded three steals and him taking a charge just in one game. What makes this even more impressive is the fact that he was playing up. He is supposed to be in the class of 2030, but was playing with the class of 2029. He also came away with some rebounds and flashed the ability to finish inside. It was impressive watching him have such an impact on defense against older competition.","_player_evaluations_3_evaluation":"field_62aba51aecf34","player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":["not_in_db"],"_player_evaluations_4_not_in_database":"field_62aba48cecf2d","player_evaluations_4_player_details_selected_featured_image":2389034,"_player_evaluations_4_player_details_selected_featured_image":"field_62cca28ffa4e7","player_evaluations_4_player_details_player_name":"Jayden Holmes","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_player_name":"field_62aba4c9ecf2f","player_evaluations_4_player_details_graduating_class":"2029","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_graduating_class":"field_62aba4ddecf30","player_evaluations_4_player_details_height":"null","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_height":"field_62aba4e8ecf31","player_evaluations_4_player_details_position":"77243","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_position":"field_62aba4f0ecf32","player_evaluations_4_player_details_school":"","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_school":"field_62aba4fdecf33","player_evaluations_4_player_details_club_team":"JL3","_player_evaluations_4_player_details_club_team":"field_62d20e723441a","player_evaluations_4_player_details":"","_player_evaluations_4_player_details":"field_62aba4afecf2e","player_evaluations_4_evaluation":"Jayden Holmes showed the ability to shoot the ball, as he knocked down multiple threes in one game.
