Here are five of the most recent prospects to announce their future plans:
Galdenzi made his college plans official when he announced that he will be attending the University of Hartford next year. A good sized scoring guard, Galdenzi can play both on or off the ball and is a tough cover when he’s able to play in space. He’s a consistent perimeter shooter, but really excels when he can use his athleticism and attack the rim. Defensively, he isn’t afraid to mix it up and can guard all three perimeter positions. He could be an instant impact player in the CCC and strikes me as someone who has all-league potential down the line.
Highlights
Jones made two announcements this week; first announcing that he will attend Cushing Academy for a post-graduate year and then sharing that he has committed to the University of Pennsylvania as a member of their class of 2025. One of the more complete back-court prospects in the region, Jones is a versatile guard that does a bit of everything on the offensive end of the floor. Above all, he’s a knockdown shooter from the perimeter, but he also shows glimpses of potential as a playmaker who makes good decisions with the ball. This seems like a tremendous fit as Penn gets a winner that should be ready from Day 1 to contribute in the Ivy League.
Cam DiChiara
Cam DiChiara
DiChiara will be staying close to home for college, announcing that he will attend the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in the fall. Lincoln’s 2nd all-time leading scorer, DiChiara had a terrific senior season, repeatedly showing his ability to make shots from behind the arc. He’s comfortable handling the ball and can really stretch the defense with his shooting ability. Another high IQ guard, he rarely turns it over and, generally speaking, just makes good decisions with the ball. With his work ethic and elite ability to shoot the ball, it wouldn’t be surprising to see him carve out a role for a solid UMass Dartmouth program in the always tough LEC.
Buchanan will stay in Massachusetts for college when he joins DiChiara at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. A versatile wing that lead his Bedford squad to the MIAA Division II Final Four, Buchanan is wired to score and took his game to another level this season. A capable perimeter shooter, he’s at his best when he’s getting downhill and attacking the basket off the bounce. He’s expanded his game and now shows signs of being comfortable as a secondary playmaker. Defensively, he probably can guard four positions at the next level and does a good job on the defensive glass. He’s the type of wing prospect that traditionally has had success in the LEC and should have a nice career at UMass Dartmouth.
Nyamwaya made his decision official when he announced that he has committed to Tufts University. A big guard that can really create off the bounce, Nyamwaya is just starting to put it all together on the floor. He’s a capable driver, going both left and right, and has no problem finishing with either hand at the rim. A good athlete, both vertically and laterally, he puts a lot of pressure on the rim in transition while also proving capable of knocking down jumpers in catch and shoot situations. He has the tools to be a lock down defender with great position size and length. The top teams in the NESCAC always have an elite wing defender and Nyamwaya looks like a prospect who could eventually fill that role for Tufts.
