Dayton Epps (5’10/CG/’28/Madison County Warriors)
IG: daytonepps28
X: @iondrink1600
Dayton is a shifty guard with burst and quickness off the bounce. He has end-to-end speed and was a tough cover. He has enough backcourt versatility to play both on and off the ball at times. The evaluation on Dayton was simple: He thrived on getting buckets in transitions and penetrating the lane to either finish or kick it out to an open shooter on the perimeter. His scoring ability and propensity for playmaking make him a prospect to monitor and keep an eye on over the spring and summer.
D’Angelo Smith (6’0/CG/’28/SRU)
IG: Sheluvgxeen
D’Angelo played with the rock in his hands quite often as he spent time initiating offense and creating for his teammates. He was aggressive off the bounce and was looking to put pressure on the rim as he played with the mindset that no one could slow him down. I wrote in my notes that D’Angelo has some nastiness in his game, and it affected his play as he was one of the hardest-playing players I saw the entire weekend. He is a competitor and the caliber player that teammates love going to war with. He scored the rock at multiple levels as he is a crafty finisher at the rim and had the pull-up trey working. He is a player who defenders find it difficult to stay in front of as he constantly hunts the paint.
Myles Hayes (6’4/SF/’28/Atlanta Xpress)
IG: showtime_myles / atl_xpress2028
X: @Myles_Hayes03 / @AtlXpress
Myles is an athletic wing with good positional size. He was in attack mode from the jump and showed his knack for scoring the rock off the bounce. He was very productive scoring the rock in the paint and at the rim because of his ability to get off the floor. He was really good at elevating over defenders and finishing over the top, especially in the paint. His athleticism was seen in several aspects of his game, from finishing above the rim in transition to his quick second jump, helping him to secure his own missed shots. He brings pace, scoring, and playmaking to the court, and when he gets it going, he can score in droves.
Tyler Harris (6’3/SF/’28/Middle Georiga Push)
IG: Thdagreat2027
Tyler brought a lot of energy and effort to the floor and was at his best, slashing his way through defenses and finishing at the rim. He is a double-digit scoring threat and does it all off the bounce. He has no problem creating scoring opportunities for himself, as he was one of the most talented offensive players in the tourney. He was aggressive at creating shots closer to the basket, and defenders found it very difficult to contain him and keep him out of the paint. I would like to see a greater commitment to the defensive end of the floor just as much as he is committed to the offensive end.
Jashawn Coffey (6’0/PG/’28/All Ohio Red)
IG: jashawn.coffey / allohiored_28
Jashawn is a lead guard and was in complete control of his squad as they had a very successful tourney. He is a complementary piece to his teammate Kam Mercer, and he did a fantastic job balancing scoring and facilitating. He sees the court well, protects the ball, and has toughness and intangibles that made him one of the best at the PG spot. He proved to be a dynamic scorer, especially off the bounce, but he also has a feel for involving teammates. He was a very good ball-handling practitioner in ball-screen action. His short-area quickness and burst made it very challenging for defenders to keep him out of the paint. With talk of Kam spending some time playing up, look for Jashawn to have an opportunity to really improve his overall game as the go-to guy.
Tre Harper (5’0/CG/’29/Memphis Wareagles)
IG: ImirTr3Harper / MemphisWareagles2029
Tre is a small lead guard who cemented himself as one of the best lead guards in the 2029 class. He has a good feeling and understanding at the PG spot. He controls the pace of the game, distributes the rock to his playmakers, and plays very unselfishly. He excels at running the offense, is excellent in transition as he gets the ball up the floor with the look-ahead pass, and doesn’t over-dribble but keeps the ball moving. Tre was also a feisty defender committed to the defensive end of the floor. He is a legit floor general with skill and court savvy.
Jaylen Rashad Lewis (5’9/SF/’28/ATG)
IG: ___cashoutjay / ATG_hoops
I saw Jaylen and his squad on the first day, and Jaylen was at his best in the open court. He played extremely hard on both ends of the floor and was in attack mode as an on-ball defender as well as a slasher looking to score. His profile lists him as a small forward and, standing 5’9, preparing for life at the high school level, he must be ready to possibly make the switch to the lead guard position. For the remainder of the spring and summer, he is an athletic prospect to monitor who competes at a high level.
