Playoff Central. [player_tooltip player_id='1293966' first='Henry' last='Stang'] might have been the story of Wednesday night. Maple Grove defeated Roseville 96-73 and Henry had 45 points on 15 shots! Let me say that again, 45 points on 15 shots! He made 12 of those 15 plus he sunk 18 of 20 foul shots. Throw in the 11 assists and seven boards and [player_tooltip player_id='1293966' first='Henry' last='Stang']'s contribution to that 96 was massive.

Upset City. I don't think anybody wants to deal with Eastview in the playoffs even though they won only four games this year. Park of Cottage Grove was 13-13 in the regular season but Eastview was way too big for them up front. Johnathan Mekonnen had 26, Nolan Senger had 25 and Eastview at one point had a 30 points lead. Final score was 87-67. The neighborhood battle of Eastview vs Apple Valley is next. AV just got by Burnsville 65-62.

The Big Stage. The Big Stage last night was also Upset City. The Mayo Civic Center. Fillmore Central knocked off top ten Spring Grove and Goodhue beat Rushford Peterson. Kyle Daniels made the game winner to get the 56-55 win for Fillmore Central. The team hit 13 threes around that Spring Grove defense. Sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='1951088' first='Luke' last='Roschen'] scored 28 leading Goodhue tot he 75-64 win over RP.

Nice game from [player_tooltip player_id='1284137' first='Grady' last='Guida'] scoring 21 for Buffalo who knocked off Brainerd 63-47. Buffalo, a three seed at 12-14 despite losing to four seed 18-9 Sauk Rapids-Rice and six seed 17-9 Brainerd, proved their spot with the 16 point win.

Tip of the Hat to the Career. [player_tooltip player_id='1284133' first='Elijah' last='Solum'] was looking to get back to state but it wasn't to be. The Spring Grove leader came back from a knee injury that forced him to miss the football season and the first third of the basketball season. Elijah came back from a knee injury to have a nice season. Teammate [player_tooltip player_id='1834616' first='Jaxon' last='Strinmoen'] took up the spot as a go to guy on the floor with Elijah out and coming back, and Jaxon had a nice 17 point, 8 rebound per game season. So tip of the hat to a couple Spring Grove Lions.
