Of course we’ll start with Boogie. 40 points but he was so much more impressive. Posting a double-double with 11 rebounds, from the guard position. He showed the ability to control the game at every key point of the game. Does not get sped up. Plays at the pace his coach and he feels his right at the time. Elusive and quick to the basket. Ball is on a string. Just a tremendous talent. Kept on envisioning him in Kentucky blue playing with all the Wildcat talent that Coach Cal will have with him.
Danny was slowed by a groin injury. So we did not see him at his best. But still he is so smooth handling the ball and running the offense. Gave what he had and coach used him in crucial situations. Normally quick getting into lane and creatively finishing. Unlimited range.
Braylan used his body to defend in the post. He understands the importance of using his lower body to defend in the paint. Did a nice job on the boards.
Jordan gets his points off of cleaning up misses. Can score inside with his height and ability to catch the ball in traffic and finish with either hand. Was able to disrupt CTK from getting to the rim and scoring early. Competes on the glass on both ends. Can change the game on the defensive end.
The young player showed no stage is too big. Came off the bench and quickly showed his ability to shoot the three ball off the catch. Look out for this player next season to build on his success this year.
Impressed with him every time I see him. His ability to run a team but also realize when he needs to score. Smooth confident handler of the ball. Has a nice pull up game. Excellent vision. Can knock down the three. Also showed the court awareness to pull up in transition for a 12 footer. Good on the ball defender.
Jayden kept CTK in the game in the first half which was able to fuel their comeback in the 2 nd half. Excellent handle. Creative scorer. Quick with the ball getting into the lane or in the open floor. Shows the awareness to change direction in transition. Can shoot the three ball as well.
Came out in the 2 nd half with a vengeance. Worked the pick and roll a couple of times with success. A big athletic explosive player to the rim. Able to mix it up inside. Does not back down. Makes his presence felt on both ends of the floor. Defended with a purpose at the rim or in the paint.
CTK stud had to perform if they had a chance in this game. It took awhile to get going but in the second half he was the stud that Iowa State is getting. A hard to stop scorer going to the rim. He showed off his whole skill set. Uses his strength to score in transition. I’m not comparing him to LeBron just saying he has that ability to muscle his way to the rim and score at this level and most likely at the next level for the Cyclones.
