The App State-signee had just four points but was brilliant against Ace Bailey Ace Bailey 6’9″ | SF McEachern | 2024 State #2 Nation GA , helping lock down the five-star prospect to 8-20 shooting and just 18 points after averaging 32.5 during the postseason. He did a terrific job keeping a body on Bailey away from the ball and got from double teams whenever his man caught it.
Bailey finished with 18 points and 6 rebounds. He didn’t have much help as the rest of the roster shot just 10-39 from the field. Ace got others involved when he could, using his size and athleticism to leap over double teams to riffle in assists. His patented turnaround jumper from the baseline and wing resulted in a handful of tough buckets.
The West Georgia-signee flipped the switch after having one-point at halftime, finishing with 18 points and 7 rebounds. He was a monster in the paint, powering the Mustangs with his physicality and explosiveness underneath the basket. A 17-4 third quarter carried the Mustangs to a 48-40 victory over Paideia.
Highlights
The freshman is fearless. He slices his way to the hoop but also distributes well and has a soft touch with his pull-up. Mitchell shot 6-9 from the field to finish with 16 points. He’s a bright young player that can really make things happen.
