2026 Dakari Spear Dakari Spear 6’2″ | SG The Colony | 2026 State TX is one of the bigger names in Texas but with The Colony being a young powerhouse in the making the question of how he would on this stage was still up in the air. Friday night The Colony took on a big and physical Longview team that seemed to be hungry and unrated. From start to finish Dakari was in rhythm finishing with 31 on the night including a game sealing dunk that set the crowd off. At 6’4 he’s a long guard with all the skills offensively to be a top recruit in the 2026 class. He rained from deep with step backs and pull ups right in the defenders face. He was also effective attacking the rim and finding open teammates. Dakari will be one to have on your radar heading into the summer and fall with The Colony bringing back basically their whole roster and will be favorites to make regionals again next year.
2024 6’8 Dillon Battie Dillon Battie 6’8″ | PF Lancaster | 2024 State #146 Nation TX is known for his dominance in the the paint but it’s not until you actually see him in person do you feel the full effect of his impact. He was excellent Friday night in a big win over Frisco Lonestar but was huge in Saturday’s win over The Colony to send Lancaster to the state tournament. He finished with 22 points and a ton of boards and at one point was the only offense Lancaster could produce. He’s also a great shot blocker and impacts the game on the defensive side crucially. He’ll have to be big for this Lancaster team on both sides in the state tournament next weekend.
Highlights
6’8 F Robert Blandburg Robert Blandburg 6’8″ | PF Longview | 2024 State TX was impressive in Friday’s 2 point loss to The Colony. He’s a game changer that rebounds on both ends and finishes at a high percentage. He also showed some nice skills he’ll need at the next level including knocking down some midrange jump shots when the defense played him soft. Big shot blocker, his wingspan looks close to 7 feet. Overall he made some solid plays and even took over at points for Longview leaving people to wonder who is he? He finished with a 12 point double double on the night.
2024 Jalen Scott Jalen Scott 5’11” | PG Frisco Lone Star | 2024 State TX has been big for Frisco Lonestar in their run to regionals and he continued his strong play on both ends Friday. Hasn’t been mentioned enough for this Lonestar team but I also seen him against Kimball where he went on several streaks knocking down shots. Undersized more then capable of playing at the next level with his toughness and ability to hit shots. He doesn’t need much space, just gets right to it. He also displayed some elite ball handling against big guards and facilitated the offense well. He’s a player that showed up all year and should be given a look for programs at the next level.
6’8 2025 Amari Reed Amari Reed 6’8″ | C Lancaster | 2025 State #203 Nation TX was all impact this weekend at Regionals. With a 7 foot wingspan he is a top notch defender and protected the basket for Lancaster holding some of the most exciting play makers in the region to single digits. He was also a nice outlet for guards and co-post star Dillon Battie Dillon Battie 6’8″ | PF Lancaster | 2024 State #146 Nation TX under the rim and he finishes BIG. He also blocked several shots this weekend and overall just looked like a high level prospect I’d want to look at for my program at the next level. rn
