His talent was evident in some showcases and summer ball in 2023, but Haywood’s impact at Bellevue last season was above and beyond what we could have expected. His ability to create on the offensive end, nail big shots, and prove to be an asset on the defensive end were paramount to a big regular season for the Wolverines. He’s a guy that could jump up to be not just a top player in his class, but one of the top players in the state in the next year or two.
Highlights
A guy with innate feel for attacking space with the ball, can stop and go on a dime, and has good length to his game. He glides around the court, is exceptional working in the midrange, and was already one of the top scorers for a tough Curtis team this past year. Morris has a high ceiling and could be another 2027 making the case for one of the top players in the state sooner rather than later.
After scoring in double-figures in just three of his first eight games to start his high school career (9.6 PPG), McLaughlin found his way after Christmas, scoring in double-digits in 11 of his last 13 games (20.3 PPG). He’s got a smooth stroke from outside and an expansive array of finishes at the rim. Ended the season with a 33-point outburst against Issaquah and is a definitely a prospect on the rise.
Highlights
No way you’d think this kid is a freshman at first glance. He has the size at 6-foot-7, the strength, and the shooting touch to be a high-level prospect. He’s shown he can work out of the post, get catches up top and shoot or work some off the dribble, and defends the rim effectively. Already with a pretty well-rounded game, this big man is highly skilled and one of the top forwards in his class.
A highly creative slashing guard with quick feet and outstanding burst to the rim, Freeman showed throughout his freshman year to be one of the best at attacking the rim in his class. He has great straight-line speed and body control and is a worker defensively who can rack up the stocks with his quickness and anticipation.
