Cavaliers Cruise to Win Back-to-Back:
Christ Church led 22-11 at the halftime break yesterday before pulling away and winning 53-32 to claim the Class 1A State Championship. The Cavaliers won back-to-back state titles after defeating Scott’s Branch a season ago 63-41. Christ Church have won now 3 state titles over the past 4 years including one in Class 2A.
Christ Church Makes Move Up:
The Cavaliers will make a big jump to Class 3A next season.
Brown and Hipp Play Well:
Adam Brown Adam Brown 6'3" | SG Christ Church | 2025 State SC and Reid Hipp Reid Hipp 6'5" | PF Christ Church | 2026 State SC both continued their solid play today in the win over the Mohawks. Brown a left-handed guard just lived at attacking the cup and scoring everything at the rim. Adam really likes to get downhill and slash to the basket whenever possible. He finished with 14 points and 7 rebounds in the win today.
Hipp is an undersized post who does his work close to the basket. Reid has a soft touch and good hands to convert putbacks. He plays the game very effectively closer to the basket he’s on the floor. Reid finished with 11 points and 13 rebounds today.
Mohawks Start Slow and Stay Slow:
Bethune-Bowman HS finished the season at (17-7). The Mohawks shot just (1-18) from behind the 3-point line yesterday. Left-handed senior forward Derik Simon mustered 11 points and 7 rebounds yesterday. Simon a physical undersized post plays Quarterback in the fall for the Mohawks. Sophomore Terrance McFadden Terrance McFadden 6'4" | PF Bethune-Bowman | 2026 State SC finished with 11 points also in the loss. Junior Bryson Robinson Bryson Robinson 6'4" | SF Bethune-Bowman | 2025 State SC finished with just 4 points while shooting (1-13) from the floor.
Seniors Go Out on Top:
DJ Harvey DJ Harvey 5'10" | PG Christ Church | 2024 State SC and Jackson Fagan Jackson Fagan 6'0" | PG Christ Church | 2024 State SC both won 3 State Championships over the past 4 years. Harvey the Class 1A State Player of the Year finished with a modest 7 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in the win. DJ just looks to run the show for his team out top while constantly bringing hustle and toughness to the floor. Harvey leaves Christ Church with 123 career WINS.
Cavaliers Return Plenty:
Christ Church will make a big jump up to Class 4A next season. The Cavaliers will still have Jonathan Perry Jonathan Perry 6'0" | CG Christ Church | 2026 SC a left-handed guard who really looks to excel in the open court and transition game. Jude Hall a wide receiver on the football provides good minutes and athleticism to the floor. Elijah Garrett, Anthony Atkins, David Dixon David Dixon 6'3" | SG Christ Church | 2026 State SC all return with Hipp and Brown.
